2024 Black Tuesday in 375ml format just dropped at Beer on the Wall AH. Very nice surprise and love the bottle size. Cheers

Only problem is you need to drink 2 bottles now to get a buzz.

Not sure where else to put this, so I guess here works. Always fun to see Willetized back. Nice to have an annual reminder, at $12.99 for a 6er of solid BA coffee stout, that we're all either A) being completely ripped off in our barrel-aged obsessions, B) Lagunitas takes a loss on this product and is bad at business, or C) some combination of both.

I respect both the $2.25 Willetized and the $48 Cycle weekday stout for all of our cold weather needs

I couldn’t believe those cycle prices. I like cycle but back when they shipped bottles were $20-30

I wouldn’t worry about it. It’s not like they lose so much they have to sell off a brewery.

Fonta Flora now in the market. Don’t sleep on their non-adjunct BA stuff.

Willetized is still the best deal you can get for a great BA stout!

Tried the Humble Forager / Brewing Projekt collab stout “Ash” and really enjoyed it. Recommend snagging a can:

A blend of 29-month-old American double stout aged in Buffalo Trace, Heaven Hill, and Willett Rye barrels, conditioned with vanilla beans from Madagascar, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Comoros, Amish maple syrup, and three species of cinnamon. Bold notes of toasted marshmallow, roasted pecans, cinnamon, and maple syrup-drenched French toast pour from this luscious barrel-aged pastry stout.

Was perusing the Binny's in Oak Brook last weekend and spotted some Trillium on the shelves. Only had Trillium once since it hasn't been available in Chicagoland. Binny's had Congress Street IPA, DDH Broken Ridge and DDH The Riverway.

Was pricey at $23-$27 a 4 pack, so I passed. But kind of cool it was available.

Trillium has been a semi-regular drop around here for the past two years. The $23-$27 price point represents a pretty significant price drop as they were $7-$9 a can the first few times around.

Relaunch was my favorite of this drop though it went the quickest,

When $23-$27 is the price for an IPA after a price drop. :grimacing:

I saw a few beers from Martin House in Fort Worth, TX at the Beer Temple. I recently had a nice traditional bock from them ( https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/31272/171485/ ) but these were either barrel aged stouts with 'adjuncts' or a non-beer sounding fruit sour. They were packaged in a tall box that houses 2 12oz cans.

The prices weren't that awful ($18 for the two cans) and I was in a good enough mood to buy a barrel aged 'mint' stout that I'm pretty sure I'll hate.

Not a flash drop, but Famous Liquors in Forest Park on Madison (next to Casa Humilde btw) had some interesting shelf turds in their reduced section. Who knows how long this stuff has been sitting around, but there were some brews from some now defunct area breweries.

Keep in mind these were in bombers which you rarely see nowadays:
    Watermelon Gun: Illuminated
    Dark & Stormy: Cahoots
    Chocofruit: 5 Rabbits Cerveceria
Grand Cru Imperial Sour 2016: Almanac
    Two Jokers: Boulevard
    Hive 56: Allagash
    Barry Rye: Perennial
    Fantastic Voyage: Perennial
    Proximity: Blue Moon
Tieton Wind Apple Brandy Cider: Tieton Cider Works

Random question - any good local Black IPAs out there right now? I've got a hankering. I can always track down some Wookey Jack but wondering if there is anything else out there.

I haven't seen any black IPAs on the shelves recently. Not the biggest fan of black IPAs but I always liked Weird Studies by Illuminated. I would think you start seeing them in a few months as the weather warms up.

Posted this on the Goose's BCS thread but was at Costco North Riverside and they had Goose Island's variety case pack for $10. The variety pack consists of their IPA (blah), 312 (meh), Greenline (ok) and Honkers Ale (great). Not sure how long it's been sitting there, but I would expect that it's entering its shelf turd phase. But for $10 it's a solid deal for a 24 pack.

I ended up grabbing a bomber of Chimay's Grand Reserve that was also $10. Drinking it right now and man it's good. Been a long time since I've had Chimay and I forgot how great their beer is.

Triptych's Dark Accord came out in the last month or so. It's a black IPA. Not sure on the consistency of their distro to the Chicago area though.
