The Twin Sisters is such a nice location and all that grass should provide room for the rompers. I just hope it's not the first overexpansion story of 2024 as well...

And, Stemma has already said that they're going to take down the large Beer Garden sign that has pissed off the neighbors since day 1.

Seems like it enhances the dismal neighborhood. Maybe needs to be more brightly lit at night.

The original owner also owns a sign making shop just down the street. That Beer Garden sign being lit up at night is what pissed the neighbors off.

From what I know of Stemma's ownership, they're pretty deliberate and measured; I think they're going into it with eyes open. At only 6 blocks away from the original location, all ages vs. 21+ might be a good way to not cannibalize their sales.

I asked on FB, and they said they plan no changes at the current location. I was there Monday, and it was almost as bad as at Struck E. Cheese.

If anyone has the need to feel dirty, go look at the Bellingham Reddit on the topic. Gross.

Has anyone heard what will/is happening with the former Brouwers spot?

Hops & Seed Brewing in Woodinville has some sad news:

This email is a tough one for me to write but after taking a long look at the last year of operations, the owners and I have made the decision to shut down the brewery and taproom immediately, starting this weekend 01/10/25.

I have had so much fun hanging out and getting to know all of you and brewing beer professionally has been a dream come true for me. Unfortunately, we never could get enough traction to keep the business sustainable and it has became apparent that the only way forward is to close up shop while we seek out a buyer to take over the equipment and space.

But this is not goodbye just yet..
I am brewing a killer fresh IPA that I want to send us off with and will open up the taproom for at least 2 days in February to share it with you:
    Saturday February 1st (3-8pm)
    Saturday February 8th (3-8pm)

The plan these days is an everything must go atmosphere with crazy deals on pints, crowlers, and on our remaining merchandise (hats, shirts, hoodies, glassware).

Another one for the list of "Huh, never knew they were ever open" breweries.

On a FB post from Bainbridge Brewing, they announced the closing of Slippery Pig Brewery. Not sure I ever had any of their beers.

They were pretty out of the way vis-a-vis Seattle, but in a nice little cluster with Métier and 20 Corners. Beer was decent enough, but probably not great enough to draw people out to Woodinville in droves, you know?

Well, there is still Watts and Triplehorn, which was one of the first breweries I ever visited outside the Seattle orbit. I still have coasters! Then for the memories, there was Sumerian and the huge Redhook place now taken over by wineries. And was there not a Fish Brewing satellite there as well?

I don’t know about Fish, but years ago there used to be a place between Triplehorn and 20 Corners called Dirty Bucket. And of course Bosk brewing is nearby, too … I like them, they have a good schwarzbier :grinning:

There was, but it's long gone. Taken over by a winery tasting room I believe. There are also a couple of taphouses in town, with fair to midlin draft selections.

Woodinville always strikes me as a pretty affluent town. You'd think there would be a more interesting beer scene there (like maybe something comparable to Bellingham).
