It’s been a long time coming but Chuckanut Brewery is excited to announce that cans of Chuckanut beer are heading out to distributors and accounts as of January 9, 2025! The first beers will be the flagship Chuckanut Pilsner and Chuckanut Kolsch. This step is a culmination of a three year plus project that’s been on-going at Chuckanut Brewery at the Port of Skagit. The brewery building was more than doubled in size in the last two years. After completion larger fermentation tanks were added and a Belgian washer/filler kegging machine was installed with a robotic arm. The six-head Codi canner from Colorado was set up the first of 2025 and Chuckanut’s brew crew has been busy filling cans since. Chuckanut Pilsner and Kolsch will go to distributors in the northwest counties of WA state (Dickerson Distributing), the Seattle-Tacoma region (NW Beverages), over to Spokane (Odom East) and Vancouver, WA (Craig Stein Beverages) and the greater Portland area and Oregon (Day One Distributors).

Once the crew becomes comfortable with the canning machine Chuckanut will begin adding a seasonal lager to the flagship beers. Later fall and winter will be Japanese Style Lager (an Asian style rice lager), Mexican Style Lager (light and crisp) for spring/summer and Fest Bier (the Oktoberfest favorite) for late summer/early fall. Hopefully small batch beers will be canned when time and supplies allow but that will be later. This is good news for all the Chuckanut fans as up to this point the cans were only available at Chuckanut’s outlets and a few select Co-Ops and bottle shops. Draft Chuckanut will still be available in more styles at draft accounts all around WA and OR.

The last step in the expansion at Chuckanut Brewery in Skagit is to hook up the small 10bbl system that was previously installed in the original Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen in Bellingham. That system was in storage and has slowly been reinstalled in the newly expanded space at the Port of Skagit. Once that is complete the system will be used for small batches and brewery collaborations with friends of Chuckanut. Stay tuned to social media and beer news for that completion, for now enjoy cans of Chuckanut wherever you might go whether on the water, in the forest, in the mountains or in the warmth of your home!

Chuckanut Brewery brews award winning Lagers and Ales and has won Large Brewery of the Year at WA Beer Awards 2017, 2019 and 2021 and Small Brewery at the GABF 2011 and 2009. The production facility and Tap Room in Skagit Valley is at 11937 Higgins Airport Way, Burlington, WA. Guests of all ages are welcome (including dogs) and there’s indoor and outdoor seating! Check out additional information about Chuckanut at chuckanutbrewery.com.

Happy as I am to hear C-nut's pils and kolsch will be coming this way, I'm hoping Spokanites such as myself will see some seasonal releases as well. Perhaps their Altbier will make it's way here again, something I'd particularly love to see.

The TC not on the list. I wasn’t surprised, but was holding out a touch of hope. We do get the Kolsch in town at various taphouses, like Coppertop. So, maybe down the road (get Spokane’s rejects )

Do you chat with the buyer at Yokes? Maybe ask if they deal with Odom, and see if they can order it?

There used to an amazing “beer” gal at the Kennewick Yokes in charge of ordering. Had a pretty big craft selection. Talked to before. She was very nice and knowledgeable.

I am guessing she moved on. Guessing the same time half the beer area was dedicated to ciders and things like Mike’s hard lemonades. Now Kennewick Yokes just carries the standard craft beers you can get at Freddie’s or Safeway - Bake Breaker, Fremont, Rogue, Georgetown, Pelican, Iron Horse…Good enough stuff, but nothing out of the ordinary. They do continue to carry NOG and on occasion things like FtG’s Pizza Pals.

I only used Yokes cuz I like the name (and, I don't know the name of any other beer store over there). Ask at your favorite spot then. Looks like Odom should cover you: https://www.odomcorp.com/locations Maybe shoot them an email: https://www.odomcorp.com/contact-us

Thanks for the links. What I really am interested is that Export Stout some good folks keep gushing about!

An Export Stout from Chuckanut? I assumed Kolsch and Altbier was as close to ales as they came.

They actually even made a very limited BBA imperial stout. And it wasn't half bad!

Saw the kölsch (but not the pilsner?) at a local New Seasons. That's fantastic news as I assume this means a much wider net of availability. I am stoked!
