Agreed. Very enjoyable. One of the better hop waters I've had.

Here are the FW draft offerings for this weekend:
In addition to our variants, we’ll have two guest taps from Firestone Walker Brewing Company. In their own words:

Oakpocalypse Now: It may not be the end of the world, but it’s definitely earth shattering—welcome to the Oakpocalypse. Conceived in collaboration with the strong ale savants at Revolution Brewing in Chicago, Oakpocalypse Now is a Triple-Oaked Barleywine initially aged for nine months in Estate Oak Rye barrels inherited from WhistlePig Whiskey. We later racked half of the beer to Herman Story red wine barrels while adding new single-forest French oak staves to the remainder of the WhistlePig casks. The beer then spent an additional three months soaking up all of this oaky goodness. The result is an insanely complex barleywine with shades of rye whiskey and red wine, all interwoven with notes of vanilla, toffee, licorice and dark fruits.

2023 Paraboloid: Our signature Parabola imperial stout achieves new heights in this limited small-batch release. The story of this beer began when we aged it in a special selection of premium 20-year-old Elijah Craig bourbon barrels. These barrels complemented Parabola’s classic dark chocolate, cherry and vanilla flavors by imparting mellow hints of oak, fudge and chocolate brownie. Additionally, we aged the beer for a full 18 months prior to blending and bottling, cultivating an ultra-smooth mouthfeel for this prodigiously flavorful stout. Enjoy it now, or cellar in a cool, dark place between 45˚F and 55˚F. Allow it to warm up in the glass when serving.

Just so there’s no confusion, I believe they won’t be on until next weekend at the release party.

Hey all - Unfortunately no distribution on these two, and no stovepipes on Tavour for this release. Lumberstruck is especially small in terms of how much we have so click fast if you want an extra. My lord though, I think you all are going to love it if you like that Cinnamon Toast Crunch effect that Amburana brings to anything it touches.

Also, unfortunately right after we sent out the e-mails, we learned that our keg of Parabaloid fell through so we're working on an alternative Firestone option. I tried for Paramburana to stick with the theme, but it wasn't feasible unfortunately.

Los Lenadores? Also FW with amburana. Pretty sure the first beer I ever had with it and was incredible. Had me looking up what the hell it was.

    those FW bastards.

Whistle Monkee was awesome , Sucaba is always great, Dark Ray ,Parabajava and PaRyeBola are all good.
Anything but those awful , lazy , and badly made anniversary blends they make

Can someone provide a sanity check. I thought I saw a post on IG for a new 19.2 oz can of DBVSOJ along with the release of Lumberstruck and Oakpocalypse Now. Did anyone else see this early this morning or was I imagining this?

Thank you. Does Revolution have any information on what the "Barleywinery" element is? Appreciate you sharing any information on this.

Thank you! We are always trying to get better and I was really pumped with how that came out. It pins to the top of our feed so no matter what we post afterwards as far as additional story-telling, those key details will be up top until the release is over. One slight mishap is that the 2pp Limit on the DBVSOJ is for Season Ticket Holders. The public sale will probably just be 1pp.

    Short answer:
Barleywinery Double Barrel V.S.O.J. (Barleywine Aged in Bourbon Barrels) 19.2 oz can

Uniquely expressive barrels of our most beloved Barleywine, blended to perfection for a one-of-a-kind Twenty Ten Variant entry.

    Long answer:
We cap off the packaged releases for the ‘24-’25 vintage with the next entry to the Twenty Ten Variant Collection, Barleywinery Double Barrel V.S.O.J. “The Barleywinery”, you may recall, was a set of experimental aging conditions informed in no small part by working in the cellars of Herman Story. I say “was”, only because it’s no longer experimental. The manipulation of oxidation and evaporation coefficients via static barrel topping (gas and/or liquid) vs “free aging” has unlocked a whole new level of influence over the aging process, and is now being practiced widely within your Deep Wood program.

    Now in English:

In short, beers emerging from the Barleywinery can, if so desired, present with cleaner, fresher, breadier malt expressions, which better allow extractive [read: barrel] flavors, aromatics, and textures to shine. Historically we’ve had to accept sometimes off-putting flavors or aromatics to access the headiest wood expressions; no longer.

This wood-obsessed Barleywine is a single, unblended batch of extra sweet component Straight Jacket aged in the primordial Barleywinery for one year in a mix of young Heaven Hill rye and bourbon barrels before being transferred to French-oak-augmented 1792 “Sweet Wheat” casks for an additional year. Compared to V.S.O.J.’s of yore, this silken superheavyweight presents with a more restrained oxidative personality, at once striking the palate like a top rope belly flop of malt expressions both fresh and extended-aged. A quick one-two of alcohol and grippy oak tannin so effectively prepares the palate for each next sip, you’ll need to imbibe with a mindful slowness to avoid the barleywobbles.

Yep. Just received another corrected email. All working now.

But also, VSOJ Barleywinery appears to be up in the regular Shopify page. Not sure they want that happening.
