2010 Harvest Ale from J.W. Lees. The nose is the typical Harvest Ale nose - smoky, leather, toffee, dusty old books, and figs. Cheers!

No 2025 bigfoot to be found here! Which is crazy because every store carries SN products. Oh well, picked up a 6-pack of 2024 because I had no discipline to age the first one I bought. Taking every ounce of strength I have to not open the 2022 I have

Having the last of the 3 BA Casita BW's purchased during the BW/Stout BIF, this being a blend of the bourbon and brandy barrels. I guess the wax encasing made this is much better than the sour apple brandy barrel from last week :stuck_out_tongue:
    Cheers!

Humble Forager/Forager Brewing collab Elm 33mo BBA English Barleywine, 14% ABV. I rated this 4.77 on Christmas eve. Funny that the two collabs are Forager and Humble Forager. I've only been a fan of barleywines about a year, as long as they're BA.

I'm drinking a barleywine from the Yukon! I never thought I would say that. Guilt Trip from Winterlong Brewing in Whitehorse. Straight up American barleywine. Comes in at 9% ABV.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours an opaque orange with a reddish tint. The nose is straight up American barleywine. Hoppy (citrus and pine) coupled with a mild sweetness. Apple, caramel, bubble gum, and fruity candy.

The taste is freaking awesome. Reminds me a lot of Old Guardian, but with a bit more fruit. Bitterness is strong - mostly citrus peel. Caramel makes a statement as well. Pine needles, orange, strawberry candy, and a bitter leather note that comes through on the aftertaste. I'm really loving this beer and might go grab a couple more!

    4.25/5

3 Sheeps Brewing Deeply Rooted 2024. Wisconsin's premier barrel-aged barleywine. This is delicious. I have the double barrel version for the BeerAdvocate Althing and bottle share on 7/19/25, at my house, in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

A BW from the Yukon, that is pretty cool Tim! Glad it was a good one!
Last of the Saturday NFL pregame brews, a 2024 Bigfoot. Got to love Double Celebration!
    Cheers!

Started painting the base at 4:30 this morning. I earned this.

I love big, sweet booze bombs but this refined classic is a wonderful change of pace. Low sugar fig jam, light bitterness, and a mild kick of brown liquor.

Enjoy the games @CarolinaCardinals , hope all is well Tom!

    Tree House Brewing: Thrice Baked
-Barleywine first aged in apple brandy barrels for over a year. Then blended with a small amount of blonde barleywine which was aged in bourbon barrels for over 2 years. Then added vanilla beans and cinnamon. An apple pie barleywine
This is pretty good stuff. Was expecting more sweetness, but it’s tamed. It actually drinks a little like a stout.

Nice write-up, sounds like you're a little let down by this one?

A little bit. I’m sure most will think it’s very good, but I think my expectations were too high. I wouldn’t spend $22 on another bottle. I’m very much looking forward to the double barrel tree of light. I have a feeling that one will be at or near the top of my all time favorites

Kros Strain Barrelywine Volume 10 Williquors 2yr BBA English Barleywine, 13% ABV. I rated this 4.62 last February. Meatballs in the crock so we can eat while watching playoff games. Planning to travel to Omaha in February/March to pick up some of their Volume 11 Barrelywines at the brewery, and any older volumes they have.
