Good day BAs! Thanks, Jason, for opening the bar! Just another mid-January day here on the tundra of NW PA - mostly overcast and a bit chilly 18F (- 8 C). We usually get some sun later which melts a little snow before the afternoon snow shower - snow depth is still at equilibrium, about three inches (7.5 cm). I still haven't needed to run my snow blower on the driveway!

No New Breakfast Beer today - just a duplicate I purchased because of experiencing a senior moment:



I always considered Four Roses to be the Thunderbird of bourbons:
“What’s the word?”
“Thunderbird.”
“What’s the price?”
“Two bits twice.”
That was the Thunderbird jingle 40+ years ago in its glory days, when cheap wine was chugged from bottles in brown paper bags and immortalized in blues songs written on jailhouse walls.

But this actually isn't too bad - looks like I'll have to re-evaluate Four Roses, or at least their Small Batch line.

Happy Sunday ba. Up and at it here w/ Dean, mahogany pale ale, Singlecut. Been a bit since I’ve had it and it remains a nicely balanced hoppy red. Sweet caramel malt with spicy floral hops. A good substitute as I wait for this years NN to get here,

 

Yes, it was a great evening talking with fellow BA's. We will definitely be doing it again in the near future. It's the next best thing to being there in person and having a couple of beers. We went for a good 4 hours at least. Cheers and thanks again to everyone who dropped in!
