I won't be going after the hazelnut chocolate. I like hazelnuts but I've never liked anything with hazelnut flavoring; it always seems artificial/fake.

Their fall-release hint of "getting a kick" out of one of those releases sounds like a hot pepper beer to me. If so, I'm not a fan of spicy pepper beers, so count me out on that one.

Some are speculating the "get a kick out of" beer is DKML as that label states "kicks you where you most expect it". We shall see.

The summer KBS variant is likely this one.

That variant sounds better than anything with Hazelnut.

That one would be a 'Klicker' instead of a 'kick' (if you know what I mean ).

Yeah, I'm not a fan of hazelnut flavoring either. It's a polarizing flavor it seems. Hazelnut flavored coffee is dreadful for me. And certainly purchasing Frangelic Mountain Brown was a mistake on my part in this regard. Sumatra Mountain Brown, however, was a fantastic beer for me. Would love to see this again. And of course, FIS and Red's Rye distributed as well. A pipe dream on these likely.

Had ine last month and would drink one out of a brown paper bag if released again. I haven't bought any packs of those over the top sweet variants in years and could live without them .
I do buy singles here and there when there's absolutely no other Imperial Stouts available though

So this KBS (stands for Kentucky Breakfast STOUT) variant is a Golden Ale. I guess words don’t fucking mean anything anymore.

and it sounds terrible. absolutely awful . have never had a good Golden Ale , pribably one of the most disgusting styles of stout to ever exist next to horchata stouts :nauseated_face:

Yeah, not a smart move. I bet they're using the KBS branding to justify charging more for it. Around here anything with KBS in the name is $25/pk, while their other BA offerings are like $18/pk. This just seems like a short-sighted way to make a quick buck off the KBS namesake.

Just went back to look at my 2017 review of DKML; This tastes like a Bud spiked with corn likker'. I'll pass on that, but looking forward to CBS if that's on the menu. I missed it last year because of the local distributor closing.

I drank my last DKML about a year ago. I love Founders stouts for the most part. KBS is one of my favorite beers.

Out of curiosity I bought a single of the riderless 2019 CBS that had been sitting out on a shelf and it was still remarkably good. I did a comparison with some 2024 KBS and found that I enjoyed the CBS more.

    Plain ol’ Imperial Stout please….jeez.

I just need them to brew that damn beer 1 more time. I’m gonna stockpile cases. Big Money ownership too busy following trends though.
