    Yes.

Even I can do it. It's actually the only way I can post pics on BA.

Does it not allow you to upload or does it error out when you try? I went to a retired beer and could see the Upload Photo option available but that is as far as I went.

Until now. They just found you out!

(Just reiterating what the instructions say when you click to upload a pic to the beers database. YMMV, I guess)

So question for the respondents of this thread. Ive added lots of photos to the site for beer images and no problem doing so with forums.
Ive recently noticed that Im having issues getting my beer images below the 20kb size for upload. I take picture and resize using Paint on my laptop. get image to be 150 x 300 pixels, but they keep stopping around 25kb. I didnt change any settings on my Samsung phone for photos.
Its also not every beer photo I take. About every 3rd or 4th one wont get small enough.
Any ideas on why my system has suddenly stopped working for SOME of my photos?
Thanks in advance for the assist!

I also use Paint to get the pixel dims, but then use the photo viewer/editor (can't remember the name) to resize to as close to 20 as it will get.

The whole process is ridiculous but it's been workable for a few years, for me.

You most certainly can upload retired beer photos . Several beers on database are marked retired. Lots of them are still brewed or remade years later. Even thou is says retired you can still upload photos.

Without you changing settings on your camera to cause your problem, I'll ask if you recently changed the background where you normally place the bottle/can to take the pic? I've noticed that a dark background causes a greater byte size (or it may be a light background causes it, I forget which way), but a change of location may be your cause.

I also use Paint to get my cropping and dimensions done, but my pics usually end up in the 30-50 or more Kb size range. I hate having to use an extra step, but to use this site (bulkresizephotos) always does the job. I get a 50Kb pic down to 9-10 Kb every time.

Heads up: the max file size for uploading beer/place images was mistakenly changed a while back (way too big), but then recently reverted to a much smaller size (too small for most users in 2025). So, I just increased the max file size to 100KB to help reduce issues.

I also updated the instructions in this post and elsewhere.

    Excellent, thanks!

This should negate the need to reduce the image quality and save one step.

    Came up on WBAYDN? recently....

I think you can upload pictures for ¨retired¨ beers. Remember, this really means not recently acti
Make sure yoúve clicked all beers, which then should show all beers, including reti.
After selecting the beer, hit the update a beer then upload a photo buttons. Make sure you meet the requirements - 150 x 300 and less than 20k
