Happy to kick this Bell’s appreciation thread by sharing some details for their upcoming Roll out the Barrel event this coming Sunday, February 2nd. (This is also part of Kalamazoo Beer Week as well.)

I’ll post the tap list once it’s up.

In the meantime here’s the constantly updating board:

Hot damn, the BBA Imperial Rye So is still on.:beer:

I won't be able to get there on Sunday, so I'm hoping for leftovers some day during the week.

Why do they get to call it Lampshade Party Ale when it’s an IPA but they had to change Two Hearted’s name from Ale to IPA?

I dunno about some of these BA Expo variants () but jealous of a good number of the offerings. Have fun for those attending.

IMO, I really wish Bell's would have left BA Expo alone and ditched the idea of making the flavor of the month. Just stick with what we all like and put it out to distro. There would have been plenty, and as of now there hasn't been a release of regular in quite some time. I've had at least one bottle of the variants; none have been any better, and a couple have been much worse IMO. It typically takes a good bottle release to get me to make the drive over for this, soooo....
If you go, the BA 35th will likely be the star of the show. Although the double BA Expo has me intrigued and I would definitely try it.

Bells strategy seems to be milking the legacy brands for all they’re worth—look at all the BA Expedition variants, multi flavored Oberon (and shandies), and the Hearted series.

For what it’s worth, I think the real star of the show is already up on the boards—the BA imp rye is a must try!

Vanilla Black Note has been on my list for a while. To the best of my knowledge, those bottles were only distributed once.

As someone whose GOAT beer is BA Expo but hasn't tried any variant, I have to ask if you've had the vanilla orange version? I think that one intrigues me the most but I can definitely see how it could be a nasty disgusting mess. Out of all of these I think coffee seems like it could work best with the base.

I've actually had one within the last couple weeks. If anything you'd think some of the flavors would fade with a little time. There's very few beers I've had that I wouldn't suggest someone at least try, but then there's a list I'd say try before you buy. The orange would be on that list. I've had the equivalent variants of Dragon's Milk and Bourbon County. In those, I thought the orange was pretty subtle. Orange was more prevalent in the Expo, but just seemed too artificial. It probably would have been better if it wasn't in your face. Everyone likes different things; my suggestion is try it before buying multiple packs of it.

I thought Raspberry was the worst. Cinnamon the best. Unfortunately it's hard for me to give coffee beers the credit that some of them deserve. I'm not a coffee drinker, and never will be. It's just not my thing. I do like some coffee beers, but only if the coffee is way in the background. I haven't had the Expo version in a while to give an accurate review.

Garth and I plan on getting there around 11:00 and hitting the general store first- BBA Coffee Expedition? Yes, please, 3 bags full!
Will get some of the other ones too.
For the cafe, I’m trying to decide if I just want to get as many glasses of BBA 35th Anniversary Expedition as I can as it may be the best (IMO) BBA Stout going. Of course, next year will be the 40th if my math is correct. Wondering what goodness will be out for that!

Newly approved label for an oldie but goodie. Not drinking too many high octane IPAs these days but would certainly revisit this one, if possible. Hopefully, it hits wide(-ish) distribution.

Valentines Day came and went without a Cold Hearted/Black IPA hitting the variety pack or Cafe. Was that just a one time thing that I mistook for a seasonal?
