What beer are you drinking now? #4487

    Good morning Advocates,
    today last day of work, tomorrow departure for a week in the snow (with 14 craft beers in tow ready to be loaded into the car tomorrow morning at dawn).
    Yesterday while packing the suitcase, a carefree craft beer:

    Stigbergets (Göteborg, SVE) - WEST COAST - Scandinavian India Pale Ale (6,5%).

    West Coast with a percentage of oats and dry hopping of American Citra and Mosaic hops.
    Here is my review already added to the database in the past:

    33 cl can (5€ from the pub fridge).
    On the bottom of the can: "Best before 21/10/2025".
    Fragrant, only slightly hazy, very fruity (tropical and yellow-fleshed fruits), bitterness kept very under control.
    A fairly standard craft product: pleasant but not unforgettable, which winks enough at those who want to drink craft, without running into characteristics too different from the average.
    Obviously this compromises the development of a real distinctive character of the beer, which remains pleasant and tasty but which cannot/does not want to take that extra step to be one of those that will be remembered.
    To drink carefree.

    Howdy all!

    This was Bells Beach Brewing's Cherry Bourbon Imperial Stout, the fourth beer in their Groundswell series of one-off barrel aged stouts. This one was a delicious cherry-infused 11.5% ABV monster that was over way too soon, just like my period of Christmas leave, which officially comes to an end today. :slight_frown:

    I finally broke down and bought a 6pack of this West Coast Hazy IPA. I am just not a big fan of these IPAs. I'm old school all the way.

    Good morning BAs! Today is my 10th anniversary here and on Untappd. Starting with a new to me BBA imperial stout - “Vinyl” by Prairie Artisan Ales:

    Bottled 10/10/24. Poured at 58°. Great bourbon nose. Taste is ok…maybe I’m expecting more from Prairie.

    So today’s check in on Untappd is number 5,350 unique beers (not bad for 10 years). My goal, like last year, is to review more on this site…alas, as is typical for me, I check in/rate about 80-90% of the new beers I drink (on Untappd) and only review 20% or less here in BA…I’m a lazy slacker, but maybe I’ll be better in 2025!

    Thanks to @Todd and all the mods and BA brethren for making this site so fun. I’m grateful, and I love you all. Cheers y’all!
