I think even if the beers tasted like literal shit, the drive is already too strong to quit . The taste of the beer isnt the point when completing this as a lot of them fell of years ago . It's for the 250 check marks.

and Everyone knows everything TH makes isn't worth the effort :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve been trying to tackle this list for the last 11 years every time I get close it changes. The criteria seems to be a little laxed. Maybe for a beer to enter the top 250 it should be around for at least a year. And basically the Hall of Fame list is similar. The criteria in my opinion for a Hall of Fame beer should be a little bit more difficult. I think, for the most part retired beers should be included in the Hall of Fame list.

My local distro just posted a pic of Sosus so I’m guessing it should be headed everywhere

    My current tallies:

    Top 250- 100
    Fame- 181
    Popular- 196

When I was actively trading, the top 250 usually hovered around 185. I probably wouldn't even recognize most of the beers on that list now. I also realized that I have about a dozen of the beers of fame in my basement that I haven't reviewed yet.

Wow. There was a period right at the beginning of Covid when this was incredibly good. I was drinking way too much at the time in general, and was drinking one to two 4-packs of this a week. Then, near the end of that year, it somehow plummeted in quality. Hopefully it's back to its former glory.

Interesting, I’ve had 103 of the top 250 (none of the current top 8 however. My ratings don’t seem to correlated to the rankings in any way, shape or form however. I think the best path for Beer Advocates try to chase the top 2-3 beers across all the styles out there vs the Top 250. Best beers by style is a much more adventurous goal IMO.

    Ouggh . that's rough

Once it's been exposed to oxygen , traveled in a box and all that does it count as a tick?

    Scientists chime in...I'm really curious

Definitely shouldn't. I remember when cbs batch 1 was super hyped and draft only a future thief lying in wait named @mikesgroove did the same thing. He actually wrote a review knocking the mouthfeel:rofl: his review got taken down.

i think it's a fair argument to be made regarding whether or not vials/jars of beers that aren't bottled still count .

For what it's worth there was a small hiss when I cracked it opened. I don't believe it was severely compromised, but obviously compromised to an extent.
