IPA Appreciation Thread (2025)

Was just in Boston and I knew it was around town. Bought a 4 pack. Drank one. Went back to store and bought a few more 4 backs. Wonderful beer!! Always wanted to try it and it did not disappoint

 

Last couple of years it's been in 4x16.....terrific beer!

Still enjoy a proper WC IPA once in a while and this is one of the OGs. Canned five days ago. Also a damn good deal in 2025 at $12 for 6 pint cans! Hard to beat.

 

Brasserie Des Garrigues (France) ‘Double Bourre Ta Gueule’ (‘Double Stuff Your Face’) Quadruple IPA

A real punch to the senses here. Big bitter hoppy piney fruity earthy pungent alcohol drenched not-too-sweet organic ingredients beer bomb. Stinging hot at 13.3% ABV, 119 IBUs of face puckering wow. Massive. Extreme. Hop bill features Nelson Sauvin, Simcoe, Cascade, Citra and Mosaic.
While just short of DFH 120, this is a beast.,.

 

Super Bock (Portugal) ‘Coruja’ IPA

Couple of 50 cl tap hits while on layover at Lisbon airport, Portugal. It’s an OK pour into a tall logoed mug.
Nose delivers fresh hops and a bit of pine.
Taste is good enough I had a second - hops up front and abundant, citrus in the mix. The malt back is smooth, little bitta bitta is fine. Crisp clean finish with a hint of sweetness. 6% ABV.
Medium body, medium carbonation.
Overall, this is on par with the Euro version of Lagunitas IPA, or any Euro Brooklyn Brewing IPA offering. Goes great with this jamón Ibérico platter in front of me, too.
