January is almost over and as far as I can tell there hasn’t been any Hamm’s appreciating going on here. So I thought I’d do my part to remedy that. You all know the drill! Let’s see ‘em!

They need to start selling this in the NYC area

I'm assuming that MC doesn't, just because it would possibly undercut the popularity of its own Miller High Life (a favorite at dive bars)

    .
The varying distribution regions for Manhattan Dist. brands isn't obvious from their website. But they are the apparent NYC distributor of MolsonCoors (Manhattan Bev.) and also seems to distribute Modelo and Corona. They probably don't have much extra room on their trucks for another brand of low cost beer.

Not sure if anyone has seen this video that "randomly" showed up in my YouTube feed:

The Hamm's bear comes up around 3:30 in. Somewhat silly and dry humor by the narrator - and I make no claim to the veracity of all he claims.

    I LOVE LOVE LOVE Hamm's.

That said, this is one of those beers - to me anyway - that tastes better from a can than tap (there's a bar by me that serves tap and I can only do two, cans - can do a lot more than I'm willing to admit to on here).

    Glad it's here!! Cheers!

Draft beer is always at the 'mercy' of how well a given retailer (e.g., bar) maintains (properly cleans) their draft lines. Any idea how well the bar you are referencing is as regards draft line maintenance?

On a separate but related note, when I took a tour of The Alchemist brewery and was in the brewery's cold room I commented to the tour guide about how there was only a couple of kegs there. The tour guide informed me that the brewery owner (John KImmich) does not like to package their beers in kegs since he doesn't trust retailers to properly (conscientiously) maintain their draft lines. What little beer makes it into kegs are for limited/trusted accounts.

    Cheers!

I turned down a Bourbon Coubty Coffee pour as being flat as a pancake. The bartender stared at me and I told to pour one. He tasted a bit and said, “That’s dead. Sorry.” What a waste.

I’ve never seen Hamm’s on tap handout I ever will in this state.

I remember seeing the beer bear commercials when I was a kid back in the 70's and 80's. I am a fan of the beer for sure. Another memory was 50 cent Hamms taps on Fremont Street in Las Vegas back in 2010 when I was smarting from a really bad beet in a poker tournament where the other player got the 1 card in the deck that could best my hand.

There is a bar at the golf course here that sells 50 cent Hamm's cans, I believe it's a nightly deal...

That would be stupid dangerous for me if I would have to drive. I was blotto when I walked back to my hotel at the Fitz.

That could also explain why there is less variety in general of regional low to mid budget beers in the NYC area.

No idea. I have asked bars how often they clean the tap lines and usually (not always) get a blank stare, which generally pushes me towards pre-packaged....

Some states have laws mandating this aspect. I was told in my home state of PA that draft lines (and faucets, etc.) must be cleaned every two weeks. I have no idea how (or if) these laws are enforced and whether how thoroughly they are cleaned is dictated (and enforced).

    Cheers!

I'm finishing up a 30 rack with a bb 3/10/25. Out of date beer didn't stop me from enjoying a couple by the grill tonight. Cheers!
