What beer are you drinking now? #4492

Just missed the cutoff for the previous WBAYDN.

Hit this after work. I was under the impression this was an Irish Dry Stout (didn't closely read the label), so I was rather surprised by how it tasted! Good stuff, though!

 

Glad you were able to enjoy opening the bar today @SABERG , and continued enjoyment of your trip in Taiwan. This beer brings me to 300 in my current overall stash. Hope to get this count to a steady go forward 30-50 stash by New Years Eve 2025.

Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout (2018)



Full cellar review linked here. WBAYDN treatment, this is oxidized 1 1/2 years beyond best buy. Don't recall running into this before with Goose Island BCBS. Glad it's my last from 2018, hopefully the 2019 bottles are holding up well.

 

This stuff tastes pretty good this morning. Cheers all.

Greetings and hallucinations from Lisbon airport! 4 hour layover til the connector to Washington DC.,. thankfully the beer is OK - and the platter of jamón Ibérico is killer!

For the first time yesterday, I bought Sierra Nevada Pale Ale in cans, a 12pack. Canned, umm, November 12th but tasting great to me.

Had a nice, though chilly walk with the pup earlier - now getting lunch of stir fry ready etc

Back in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Kicking off the day with a Jai Alai on draft.

 

Happy Wednesday ba. Day off with not much to do so into it here. Jjjuliusss, ipa, tree house. Pungently hoppy with sharp notes of melon and peach,

 

This will do the trick nicely.

 

Feeling reasonably better today, still have another full day of meds to go. Having an Athletic Free Wave hazy IPA - not bad for a NA.

 

1) Third Space Good Cheer (5.4%): A German Dunkel from Wisconsin with flavors of dark grains, cocoa, oak and earth, faint roast. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)
versus
2) Phase Three P3 Winter Lager (5.0%): A German Dunkel from Chicago with flavors of brown bread, caramel, toasted notes.

Dunkel Battle. Never make the first page, here we go: First is Third Space Good Cheer. Dark with some slight roasted notes. Earthy and smooth. Excellent.
Next is Phase Three P3 Winter Lager. First try at this. Pours with a darker head. Identical aromas. More yeasty and toasted notes, but overall quite similar. Just a touch more dynamic toasted flavors from Phase Three here.
Winner: Phase Three P3 Winter Lager
