I really miss Sierra Nevada Porter and Stout Anchor Porter Rogue Mocha Porter Red Hook IPA Long Trail Unfiltered IPA
Victory Headwaters Pale Ale. Terrific Pale Ale, Victory needs to get away from the Monkey business and brew this again!
I agree, it was a terrific Pale Ale. I also miss Fatheads Trail Head Pale Ale. I think if Fatheads brought back Trail Head as a seasonal offering it would sell well in today’s market. Maybe Sunshine Daydream fills that void. At least they could put it in one of their variety packs.
Rayon Vert was a beer that completely slipped under my radar when it was released 11 or 12 years ago. Remember trying it and thinking it was unusual and pretty interesting at the time, but no more than that. Flash ahead a few years and I'm trying a glass of it at an Orval event in pdx in 2022. The beer was absolutely stunning. Funky, lightly sour, rich and incredibly complex, RV was an absolute revelation. Alas, the beer bar had only a single bottle with nothing for sale (everyone was interested in obtaining a bottle). Just an altogether amazing beer from GF.
Moved to France 16 months ago. Been back to the US once. On my way right now. Hope to get my fill of all the American brews I haven’t had in a year: CCB Florida Man, Jai Alai, DFH 120 Minute, World Wide Stout, Epic Big Bad Baptist, Terrapin Depth Perception, Ft. Myers Brewing OYA, Bourbon County 2024, etc.,, Gonna be a foggy few daze.,.
the new paraboloid is an awesome %16.× beast. what about Marshall Zhukov? Dosvidanya (heard its brewery only this year)
Where will you be at?? Gonna be super weird seeing you post USA beers in NBW in a few days. I’m looking forward to it, safe travels.
Although I can't complain, having Backwoods Bastard, one of my favorites, available in nearly every store, I do miss Wulver. I haven't seen it in Grand Rapids in years. Did Thirsty Dog discontinue its distribution to Michigan?
I miss the doom metal themed beers from Oliver. They weren't always great, but got me into checking out some bands that I had missed.
Whitbread Ale. It was everywhere on tap in the 90's, then it went the way of the Dodo bird, unfortunately. I used to get fishbowls of it at a dive bar after a long night busting hump at work. Good times..... I'm trying to find a clone recipe so I can brew myself a close facsimile. It's been so long I barely remember what it tasted like, but I know I loved it.
Double Trouble was my favorite IPA and I don't care for IPAs. It was just a perfect balance of malt & hops, with a beautiful grapefruit like aroma. Such a shame it's been in the wind for so long, I gave up looking for it.
Aside from a few Anchor beers and to a lesser extent others including Rayon Vert (some may rise again?), damn what I would give for some Watneys Stingo. Would transport me back 40+ years!
