Good morning and happy WBAYDN 4,500!
Today I'm going to tell you about another beer we drank at this mountain brewery, which we both tasted on tap and took home after having a 2 L bottle filled.

Birrificio di Quero (Quero, ITA) - FEST BIER - Marzen (5,5%).

Immediately on the nose, notes of cereals (barley) and bread crust.
Coppery blonde color, very clean and almost completely transparent.
Nice compact head of foam to act as a hat (especially in the one on tap).
In the mouth, as already said for the Schwarzbier and for the other low fermentations of the house, the first thing that struck me was the extreme lightness and drinkability of the liquid body, thanks to a water taken directly from a natural source (Dolomites, Feltre area / 50 minutes from S. Martino di Castrozza - very high ski resort), which does not require reprocessing to be worked and built a beer around it. And this is already a great starting point.
The taste is balanced, not macrato, which enhances this cereal grisdt that recalls toasted bread, also with a softer note of toasted bread with a dry finish, not bitter, but clean, which leaves these notes of bread making on the palate.
Definitely a beer that invites you to eat something with it, even just a bruschetta with a drizzle of oil...
Good, classic, in style and with a truly enviable structure given by this spring water that gives it a smoothness that is immediately noticeable.

Thank you @Jack_14 and nice Festbier and also an awesome Heady Topper pull to start the day @brewme !

Another cellar pull, this one from Wisconsin.

Central Waters Vanilla Bean Stout (2019)

Full Cellaruary take linked here. WBAYDN treatment, this held on just as fresh as when I first tried 3 years after bottling. Just a superb beer, highly recommend this and most other CW Stouts.

Looking forward to the waters of March after our first significant snow of the season (10 inches for the entire season prior to yesterday + 2.8 yesterday for 12.8 total for the season).

Catch up posts from last night...

Was out and about going to a concert.

First stop at Southern Yankee Craft House.

    Frost Town Brewing's Black Lager.

And True Anomaly's Heat Shields are for Sissies, Belgian Quad.

Going to see a Larry Slezak tribute jam. Larry is one of the giants of the Houston jazz scene, and past away several years ago. My buddy Thomas Helton organized a tribute concert jam for him on his birthday (which was yesterday ha).

After Southern Yankee Craft House, wandered over to The Red Lion Pub.

Fuller's ESB and some sausage rolls.

Then on over to Ovations for Larry's tribute jam. Ovations is an old school music spot, that I saw Larry at several times. I haven't gone out and done my bar hoping and music thing in a while, it felt good.

I think I might have been at this show at Ovations back in like 2011, seeing Larry's band ha.

Good morning, BAs! It's basically my Friday today. There isn't much sunshine outside today, but there's Double Sunshine in my glass, and that's good enough for me.

@Bitterbill was drinking, and enjoying, this beer yesterday. I'm a day behind him, and have the same opinion.

Nicee.. the hype is real. Had a variety of these brewery's beers in my halftimebeverage.com cart while deciding what else to get.. came back later to find they were all sold out. Hopefully I can acquire some when they restock. Cheers!!

Since the Backwoods Bastard has been year-round it's been a while since I had this one. Picked up a six pack, drinks just fine. And for below; way too late for me as I have six grandsons, three granddaughters, and a great granddaughter myself, I saw this and laughed. Had to share.

(Trying to drink.,.) 2022 Tröegs ‘Nimble Giant’ DIPA.,. Cheers!

The story goes that I left this in my cousin’s garage fridge here in Maryland in 2022, and no one drank it. So it’s back on me.,.,

I guess this counts toward Cellaruary.
    I’ll post a note.,.
