Not sure if you would call them reserves. They seemed to follow along party lines.

I gave Marty a Beaker Mug years ago (I sold them).
Be warned, if you drink a lager or pils from it, it looks like you have a urine sample.
Hazy IPA's give the impression that your urine is very cloudy. [IMG]
BUT the FLASK mug is very cool!
The conical shape brings the bouquet of the beverage to the top and is bottom heavy to avoid spillage.
Basically, if you knock this glass over you need to be cut off.

Is there a way these days to use Rev Rewards to buy beer online? Toast only seems to have sixtels and it seems like Shopify still just has an option to add your details to accrue points but not spend them.

I am 99% sure Rev Rewards must be used in person.

Lumberstruck and Oakpacalypse were both on there so the "no distro on these two" was a little confusing to me. I guess I wasn't paying enough attention to discern between stovepipe or not... Either way, sounds like a great weekend for Rev.

Planning on grabbing my allotment tomorrow (Sunday) around 2 / 2:30pm and sampling any draft variants while there...if anyone else will be there hit me up!

NARRATOR: No one hit him up.

Rioter's Reserve 2025 might be the best Deep Wood beer I've ever tasted. I don't say that lightly. Pictured below are the wine-forward beers, Barleywinery DBVSOJ (left) and Oakpocalypse Later (right). Both are excellent, but I lean towards OL. Lumberstruck's cinnamon notes were too much for me and my least favorite was Other People's Barrels, which was a bit of a booze bomb IMO. God bless my uber driver.

Sorry that no one said hi! I was there yesterday instead.

I mostly agree with your assessment, except that I did enjoy Lumberstruck - I thought the amburana was pleasantly restrained. More woody than spicy, if that makes sense.

For the Little Crazy fans, we'll be doing those commemorative Beaker glasses on Saturday Feb 1 and tapping a DDH version A Little CrazIER. I finally had my first pour of the year last week and it's really popping. We added that hop Krush (formerly HBC 586, used in Infinity-Hero) intot the dry hop this year to accentuate the citrus and its really nice.

All the draft variants are still on at the Taproom (including the God-like Rioter's Reserve). Got a chance to chat with Marty a bit yesterday, who was very generous to nerd out with my friend and I. Always a good time in that space.

I'm currently bopping around between New Zealand and Australia for a few months, so I had to convince a kind friend to drive up to Chicago and pick up my allocations. Sorry to have missed this release, can't wait to try everything come May!

Other People's Barrels was my favorite draft release of the last several years. One of the few that I have gone back after first release to have again. Would love to have that canned/crowlered.

Tried the new 10% X-Hero...I get what they were trying to do and the segment they're trying to compete in, but honestly, I wasn't a fan and I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I'd rather have one of the Voodoo Rangers or Beer Hugs.

On the other note, looking forward to finally picking up my order later next week

Curious to hear people's thoughts on Lumberstruck this go around? I'm admittedly a Revolution fan and love most of the offerings. I do not care for this one and can't pinpoint exactly why. I've had two cans and honestly struggle to find any characteristic I actually enjoy. It's not strictly the Amburana influence with the cinnamon-like notes that I dislike, but the base beer also falls short for me. I'm excited they continue to innovate and take swings at novel concepts, but this one is a rare miss for me.

I haven't had this beer, but it seems like most beers that use Amburana have a hit-or-miss nature to them. Some people think it's great, and don't understand why other's don't like it, and those that don't like it can't seem to get behind it or fully explain why.

I don't think it is on the 'cilantro =? Soap' taste buds level, but there seems to be a divide along those lines when Amburana is used.

I love amburana and I really enjoyed Dead & Breakfast, but there’s something in the base beer that doesn’t gel with it. I still enjoyed it, but I think my expectations were too high.

I also loved Dread & Breakfast so that's another reason why I'm struggling to wrap my brain around this one. I tend to take my BA beers out of the fridge and let them come up to temp for 20-30 min prior to opening. Think I may actually drink the next one straight from my beverage cooler (usually sits at upper 40's F) and see if I like it a bit more.

I also had high expectations considering how much I loved the first Lumberstruck batch, but the Amburana just sticks out in a not pleasant way on this beer. It gets better as it warms up, but I think the Black Barleywine base doesn't play well with the Amburana.

I'm just...not team Amburana. I wound up enjoying this beer but the persistent cinnamon notes are not a go-to for me.

I had no problem with the base beer, personally. I just hope that in 2025 Deep Wood dials the Amburana experiments WAY back.

And ditto to @Beer_Pizza_Beer -- that first Lumberstruck was utterly fantastic.

I think a V.S.O.Vanilla Deth that incorporates amburana could be pretty dope! Let’s not go full boycott on it just yet.
