RAR Out Of Order You Uncultured Swine Sundae Sour, 5% ABV. Pours pale yellow, with a one finger yellow head that left puree residue. Aroma is cheesecake and banana. Taste is banana cheesecake, quite sweet, slightly tart. Decent creamy mouthfeel, overall excellent.

    Hello New Beer Weekend!!!

Well, it's adventure time! I am in Belize. It is warm and I am happy here in San Pedro Town.

My first new beer is not the straight up Belikin. No, some friends brought a bottle for me to try several years back. It is the Belikin Stout.
    Belikin Stout - Belize - 6.5%

Now, I have taken it out of the koozie they gave me at the bar. It does seem to develop a bit more character as it warms up. It does have a slightly burnt character, and it is light bodied, but I don't give a damn. I am in a tropical paradise.

Straight from the bottle, so no appearance.
Holding the opening of the bottle to my nose I do get some malts and chocolate hints.
Taste - there is a light chocolate malt flavor up front. It does have a slight burnt flavor. There's dark chocolate elements to it. Hints of caramel also say hi.
The body does seem light for a stout. Slight watery feeling. Smooth.
For what it is, not bad.

Next post from me will be a Belikin Light. Cheers

Going to try a few today, mostly because they were in the cellar and shouldn’t have been.
Picked this up well over a year ago along with a few others to send to someone. But they never got back to me so they sat.
Won’t actually review this until I try it fresh.
But I will say that this particular gluten free beer is not a good one for aging.
Started off not bad really, gave me some hope, but then the metallic flavor kicked in and never left.
Next up will be from Brewery Nyx as well, a double IPA.
    Maybe it will be better?

CANNED ON 02/06/25. Poured into a BA 25th Ann teku -- hell yeah.

A: Hazy Arnold Palmer hue with1-2 finger off-white frothy head with decent retention and sheets of bubbly lacing.

S: Moderately intense orange-pineapple citrus hop notes are strong and dominate. Herbal lemongrass undercurrent as it warms.

T: Flavor is a great balance of strong pale malty background supplying some backing sweetness that enhance the pineapple-orange-white grapefruit-tangerine citrus with underlying guava and mango hop notes. Delicious beer -- so well-balanced for the style -- malt sweetness elevating the hoppiness. Bitterness is low. Esters also low and fruity.

M: Highly drinkable with 6% ABV, medium body with high carbonation and medium dry finish.

O: Easily one of my favorite Veil beers -- so drinkable and packed with flavor that doesn't tread into that gritty green fruit territory that some Veil hazies move towards. Great beer and will be looking out for it everytime I am in my usual beer store.

The nose has a grain character, an it is stronger than expected for a light beer.
Taste is light. I do get grain. I get caramel which is unexpected from a light beer. Lots of grain. Sweet flavor hints.
The body is light, though expected.
This is way better than I was expecting.

Wow, way higher than average here. I am done with new beers today, but I hope to scare up some more tomorrow. Cheers.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated 12/23/24 to a Pils glass at fridge temp. Purchased 7-days ago cold at Whole Foods.
The body is on the dark side of light gold (if that makes sense) and is not crystal clear, but you can see your hand through the glass and the bubbles inside rising. A super white, super small-bubble foam sits above, it almost looks like whipped cream, but with no ability to form peaks. Lacing is pretty good.
The aroma is a little weak, but some lemon is sensed.
The taste is surprisingly sweet on the first sip. Oddly, this gradually changes to quite a dry experience, especially after the swallow..
The mouthfeel is light and carbonation is good.
Not the best Italian Pilsner I have had, but I would choose it again if other options were not great. Given that it is dry hopped, maybe it's better when younger than 50+ days.

Crystal clear, light yellow body; somewhat sparse carbonation; thick, white, frothy head, long-lasting with a rolling, rocky appearance on top. Incredible nose; light esters and floral; honeydew melon. Very clean and mild taste; delicate malt base; soft biscuit; well-balanced, moderate hop bitterness. Medium-light body; soft and feathery; whisper of dryness.

Montana continues to wow me with many of their beers. This little beauty is an incredibly easy drinker. The beer's visuals and aroma are killer while the taste and mouthfeel do justice to the American pale lager style.

This one is almost good enough to rate.
Not sure if it’s the higher hops content, the higher ABV, or what, but I could finish this one. In fact, I can say I’ve had worse fresh beer.
The pour is almost transparent but not quite, not opaque enough for unfiltered so I’m chalking it up to age and millet. (Which is apparently what they use instead of malt. And rice. And in this case, sunflower seeds)
The taste is definitely hop forward, almost citra like in profile, yet dulled by age or, let’s just go with age.
The feel is oddly viscous, which even for a double IPA, is a bit odd. YMMD. Not off putting, just an observation.
OA, this is the first one of theirs that I really want to try fresh, just out of curiosity.
    Cheers all!
Back later this evening with my final cellar pull of the day, but one I expect to really enjoy.

Pours out a clear, dark mahogany brown color, nearly opaque in the glass; thin khaki colored head, somewhat fizzy and quickly dissipates to a thin, patchy area of foam on top of the beer. Faint aroma with little to offer; very light chocolate and cocoa; feeble and indistinct earthy spiciness; after a while, a faint note of smokiness. Fairly rich flavor; milk chocolate; subliminal phenols in the background; light yet balanced smokiness.; very little perceived bitterness. Medium-heavy body; dense and silky on the palate; a twinge of dryness offsetting the heavy residual sugar sweetness; lightly sticky.

My initial impression was rather ho-hum with this beer. As the beer warmed up though, everything other than the appearance improved. I wouldn't say the smoke presence is that prominent, but even a few years can reduce its presence. But as an imperial porter, this one is pretty spiffy.

Today is a snow day pure and simple: went to my joint for one thing and Cabin Fever spoke to me as I hoped for a Cabin Fever day. Smudge can date from Brooklyn, sorry my neighborhood FLX.
Appearance is a light yellow murk with a finely pubbled head that reduced to a light creamy lattice down the glass. Aroma is hoppy (my wife) while I get lemony limey and hops. Taste is has flavors of peach softness, pineapple , distinct passion fruit (I know- actually had passion fruit this week), bitter grapefruit and sweet grapes. Feel is patented Other Half smacky, bitter sweet dry. The combo induces xerostomia (look it up) in a satisfying way. Overall I feel this gives a trademark Other Half experience, which you should try as soon as possible!

    Pikes peak ocean of clouds
    ...cloudy,yes I said cloudy appearance
...medium bodied with about the same for the carbonation
...aroma is fruit cocktail but minus the peel and skin that I detect in most ipas which seems to soften it. Theres some malt, floral and bread which borderline comes off like fruitcake
..despite aroma it isn't really sweet but sort of sits in the middle of sweet and very mild bitterness.
..overall for me this is one of my favorite ipas granted im far from an expert about this style

Well, my plan was to go to a bar a couple of blocks from the hotel. We'll I went one block too far and missed it. Oh, we'll. I did find a C store and found a new Belikin I haven't had yet. Here goes.

From a can poured into a pint glass. Best by 14, April, 25

Very clear pouring beer in the glass. Steady stream of carbonation bubbles rising in the glass. The head is frothy and 2 finger in size. Decent retention and some lacing on the glass.
Aroma is a light earthy grain smell. Slightly floral in nature. OK.
The flavor is almost totally lacking what the nose suggested. Super faint grain. Super faint earthy and floral.
    Super light bodied. Watery.
The Light version had a ton of flavor. This is totally lacking it.

Now I should be done tonight. I will sit on the balcony and try to enjoy this, and the 2nd can of it I bought.

N med bold sweet whipped crm w/ hints of pineapple, divine, could literally smell this all day; unique- can't say i've encountered this aroma before on any other beer
T follows nose to an extent, whipped crm, marshmallow, then pineapple, a bit of citrus, and tanginess/zestiness in the fin, just a touch of heat, milk sugar/green hops combo as well, hearty bisc malt/flaked oats support; tasty for sure

Said I’d be back later with a cellar pull that would be better than the two earlier.
Not sure why I reviewed this other than if someone has one (like I did) hanging around in their cellar.
The pour is stout black with a light brown head that left a tiny bit of lacing.
The taste is actually quite good, at least for those of us that enjoy our imperial stouts without the hard edges that loads of hops tend to supply.
More dark fruit than coffee, definitely chocolate, not cacao, but milk chocolate.
Not exactly sweet, but can’t say it’s not sweet like raisins and figs are.
The feel is thin, for an imperial stout, a bit too thin. For a barrel aged imperial stout much too thin. That said, makes it way too easy to drink, and drink quickly.
OA, really wish I had been able to find the others in the series. Rather odd that I couldn’t, but there we have it.

Coop Ale Works Brew Choice Helles Lager, 4.8% ABV; 4.34 overall

Pours a bright effervescent gold with a thumb of ivory colored head. Head retention & are not impressive

S: Bready, plenty of floral & herbal hops, great nose

T: Follows the nose, grassy notes, a little dryness up front. Some lemony notes mix in with the breadyness once this beer warms up, a little bit of herbal bitterness as well, just a touch of grainy sweetness as well. Finishes grassy with a little breadyness, some lemon notes & a touch of woody hops

MF: Medium body, delicate carbonation, great balance

Easy drinker, spot on for the style, a little too dry for perfection
