Would love to go back there for some diving. All I got was 2 tanks off the cruise ship in 2017

    Good evening NBW
3Floyds released an AAL, so I'm taking a break from new, but old, Cellaruary new beers.

    Deluxe Lager
12oz can PKGD ON 01/13/25 (1 month ago) poured into a tulip pint glass at fridge temp 4.5% ABV. The beer pours very bright, pale straw yellow in color with nearly white head. The head recedes to a thin ring and island. No lacing. The aroma is mild with corn grits and a hint of malt. The taste is corny, pale malt with a hint of a mineral note and fairly neutral hops trending toward earthy, noble flavor. Mild to moderate bitterness. The feel is thin bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Properly lagered with no off flavors. Overall, great AAL.

We'll see what tomorrow brings. I have two new / old beers to bring to NBW this month. Cheers all!

Hello folks! First post here but I’ve got some fun beers this weekend and am excited to share! Please let me know if I made any mistakes.

Brew : Double Blueberry Marshmallow Shake
Brewery : Great Notion (Portland, OR)
    Style : Tart Ale
    ABV : 9.0%
    Rating : 4.25/5.00
    [IMG]

OK. This is a fun one for me. Huge notes of tart raspberry that goes right into vanilla with the slightest bit of toastiness.

The blueberry comes out in a more acidic way as opposed to sweet but the real star here is the mouthfeel. Hugely thick, one of the thickest smoothie beers I’ve had, personally.

Really nice nose on it, jammy, rice crispy like notes of gooey marshmallow pastry with a rounded edge to it.

Quite high in the ABV department but I don’t discriminate. A TART ale indeed but a delicious one too. All in all it was lovely and a privilege to drink.

Goose Island Bourbon County Brand ‘Vanilla Rye Stout’

16.9 oz bottle poured slightly chilt into a plastic hotel room cup in Virginia.
A stubborn fizz is offered that retreated to the perimeter. Small lace, small legs.
Nose is that bourbon vanilla flavored stuff used for baking. Nada mas.
Spicy rye is secondary to the experience, the vanilla is heavy, and sweetness gets pronounced. On warming, the vanilla assault levels off, and there’s coffee, chocolate, Stay Puft marshmallow, oak on the side of the tongue. Sticky finish.
Mouth is less heavy than many BCBS, there is medium carbonation.
Overall, the rye stout gets a bit bulldozed by vanilla in the first half of the bottle, but gets better toward the end.

    4.25/5 in the BA DB

Social Project Brewing's The Other Side Triple Hazy IPA ( with Nectaron, Simco Cryo & Riwaka Amplifire Hops ), 9.5% ABV; 4.58 overall

Pours a very hazed gold with 2 fingers+ of ivory colored head. Epic lacing & good head retention

S: Tons of tropical fruit, a little citrus, a little dankness on the edges, temporary; kind of clashes with the flavor, but only a little. .25 Deduction

T: Sweet orange, a little lime, a kiss of vanilla & some watermelon & dryness up front. Nectarines, a little guava, pineapple & passion fruit along with tangerine as this beer warms up. Finishes a little dry with lime, passion fruit, guava & sweet orange

MF: Medium body, creamy carbonation, a touch of acidity

Dangerously drinkable, ABV is well masked, another Banger from the best IPA producer in the state IMHO

    Fox Farm - Avalonia Ruby

375ml bottle served in a snulip. Batch 1, bottled 10/21. Got it from @Roy_Hobbs in NBS BIF #18.

Pours a slightly hazy purple-red with a medium sized head and surprising retention, leaving a thick and fluffy ring and a dusting across the surface. Smell is very tart, stewed plums, cherry and berry jam.

Taste is cherries and tart jam. Some oak, and a light earthy bitter. A little chardonnay.

Mouthfeel is light, smooth, a little dry. Overall, very tasty.

S: Tons of dark fruit, treacle, maple syrup, some Red Wine & barrel; helluva nose!

T: Follows the nose, a little prune, dark cherry, Pipe Tobacoo, a little leather & dried salted plums up front. Maple candy, brown sugar. plums, oaky notes, leafy hops & barrel dryness, plus a little fig, prune & dark cherry as this beer warms up. Finishes oaky with plenty of Maple Syrup, some dark cherry & plums

Cross posted with Imperial Stout is Life. Drank this last night and forgot to share. 32 oz of 14% beer makes memory a little fuzzy!! This is Hemauer Brewing in Mechanicsburg, PA and their Garage #5 Russian Imperial Stout. Aged in Bourbon barrels. Added to BA DB

I picked this up at rhe brewery on 12 /28 and drank it last night over several hours. @Spade @DIM @Ozzylizard this is still available on tap at the brewery![IMG]
Sampling a refrigerated 32 oz crowler purchased at the brewery on 12/28/2024. Pouring into my trusty snifter.
The beer pours a black coffee color with some minimal dense beige head of about 1 cm. The beer leaves some very scattered lacing and foam fades to a thin edge layer during the sampling.
Aroma on this beer is roasted malt and some fudge with a good amount of bourbon and brown sugar mixing. No hints of ABV and the nose isnt fusol or overly boozy.
First sip reveals a medium body, slightly sticky mouthfeel and texture that coats my palate and lips on each sip. Carbonation is fine and sort of spacious. Drinks fairly easy for a 14% brew and is probably going to be dangerous by the end of the can.
Flavor is fudge brownie, brown sugar and some sweetish bourbon. No hint of hops anywhere, but also not very boozy or fusol hot. This is a dangerous big beer, that I am definitely enjoying. Worth a stop at this new-ish brewery in southcentral PA.

Good Sunday morning NBS/nbw and thank @beergoot for hosting this week.
Yesterday was the 103 annual Harris Hill Ski Jump, about 40 minutes north of us in Brattleboro Vt, always a good time, Conditions were excellent and the time was a blast
Snow day today, so going to make a big batch of chicken and veg soup.
Todays offering was picked up at the Brattleboro Food Coop. Glad to see Wundekammer Bier offerings make to this store
This one is listed here as a Belgian Pale Ale, I could support that, There is enough oak and mixed culture presence that it could lean into the saison catagory.
    Cheers

Poured from the 500ml bottle , into the test glass
A - Honey yellow, with excellent clarity. Vibrant carbonation relentlessy feeds a never receding white cap. Lacing is ring by ring. A beautiful beer
S - Honeysuckle, orange pith, lemongrass, some light crackery grain, add some earthy hops
T - All the aromatics, with a nice chalky minerality, the lemongrass, and orange skin are up front, with a mixed culture thread thas delightful
M - Medium in body, with an almost silky texture. All that carbonation you would think the offering would be prckly but no. The mixed culture and time in a fouder have this pleasantly round on the palate. Finish is long, with a delghtful chalky element.
O - A very good offering from Wunderkammer, hits all the high notes. Love the mixed culture and fouder impacts.
