11 Degrees, this Hockey game is pretty intense. Team Canada looks sharper to me.

Found a straggler. This Roughtail Stout seems to more coffee dominant than I remember.

993 Brewers Sasquatch imperial chocolate milk stout. It’s decent. There’s a bit of a twang, almost like a porter, maybe from the cacao nibs.

Have a good Thursday. Pretty busy week of reading. I finished 3 in the last 2 days. 3rd hannibal book is good, but it takes a while to build up the story, and the 2nd half is the fun stuff. Liked Red Dragon the best, Silence of the Lambs was 2nd, as it is not as thrilling overall. The Coworker was a great standard murder mystery thriller. Harry Potter 6 was also amazing. Best ending of a book ever I've seen but the first half is all Tom Riddle/Voldemort Lore so it takes a while to get going.

State of Brewing Pumpkin Ale from Aldi. Great head retention and spotty lacing on the glass. Aromas of big cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, clove, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread/crust, herbal, floral, grass. Taste follows with big cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, clove, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread/crust, herbal, floral, grass, and light peppercorn/roast. Light herbal, woody, grassy bitterness and cinnamon spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and body balanced creamy/silky malts and stickly hops/spice in the mouthfeel. Lingering sticky spice dryness with no cloying/astringency. Mild increasing warmth of 6% after the finish. More of a brown ale on base style. A lot of spice presence and a little too sweet, but all around enjoyable. Touch of oxidation/off flavor notes. 3.77/5[IMG]

Doing a side-by-side for the first time! Another couple cans I got from Half Time — not super old, but not mega fresh either. Nevertheless, this was a fun comparison!

Verdict: I like the Imperial IPA better. It’s fresher (canned 1/7/25 compared to the Second Fiddle at 12/18/24), so maybe that was the difference, but I think the Imperial IPA just had a flavor profile I vibed with more.

    Egészségedre!
