I'm a sucker for the maple stouts, but the last time I had Moment of Truth, it did not live up to my expectations. Batch 1 was extremely good (isn't it always?)

Sounds like Truth Tiramisu is one of the remaining variants to be released this week: https://x.com/TreeHouseBrewCo/status/1892271538130301061

Haven't bought any yet but all these beers sound great. The large format is a sticking point for me but I'm sure I'll cave and buy at least one when I go on Friday.

Tbh I’d put two of the three batches of persist I’ve had (I think there’s been 4 total and I might have missed 4) over MoT and I def had the first release of it. It was good but didn’t strike me as worth the full BA premium. That said the coffee version is the one I’ve been closest to pulling the trigger on this week, close enough to BA Good Morning to get me hyped. Will prob snag it if it’s still there tomorrrow.

I enjoyed the video Nate and company put out.

But the part about opening it up and sharing the bottle and pours with family made me laugh. And I know I don’t speak for all of us. But 90% of my family would say, oh god it’s so heavy, this is gross, hey it’s high booze, no thanks, I don’t like beer, and I don’t understand it.

This is probably why Booze, Wine and Seltzer continue to win I guess.

It’s all in the delivery for it to work. I think if it was paired with a dessert you would be able to get more takers. Beer and food paired right gets the snobs and the everyday drinkers. Having said that, I would never bring it to my family either. They would berate me mercilessly for spending that much on a beer even if it was good.

I agree, Persist has been a top tier offering from them. It should be a staple release throughout the fall and winter imo

caved on the triple berry. probably my only pick up - hard to justify the form factor + price

I dunno, my wife doesn't like very many beers. But she seems to really dig anything like this I share with her.

These types of stouts became popular and are highly rated for a reason. They're approachable.

Funny because this is the only one I would pass on, even if it was being offered to me by someone. Never had a stout with berries in it that I truly enjoyed. The BCBS backyard rye was an expensive drain pour. Punishment for not learning my lesson after trying many others with similar adjuncts

You gotta lead with a soliloquy 3 paragraphs long of esoteric dribble, that's how you lock them in Tree House style

Having Half Truth now and it's pretty damn good for what it is. Nice to have a TH stout that isn't too sweet, and I really don't feel like I need more barrel presence. (More wouldn't necesarily make it worse, but there's a really nice amount as is imo.) If it were a little bit thicker it'd be pretty much perfect.

I made a trip to Treehouse specifically to purchase Half Truth. I think it’s fine, but it has a bit of acidity, which I don’t like. I’ve enjoyed their other barrel blends much more, specifically Big Bear Barrel Blend.

Anybody tried Westy and care to share an assessment? I've been waiting a long time for them to make a beer like this. Hoping there's some left when I next get the chance to head down there in a couple weeks.

If I want to drink grapefruit juice, I brush my teeth and drink orange juice. If I want a berry stout, I drink berry NyQuil and chase it with a stout.

Oh for sure that makes sense, Em enjoys it quite a bit. I was referring more so her aunts, my aunts, uncles, parents etc. The reactions are so all over. Even within my cousins, some never really adopted craft at all and are always perplexed by big flavors like this. But everyone is always a bourbon, wine and cigar “expert” :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Ok cookies and cream Truth is one that I would probably buy. I would worry about it being too sweet, but they usually do a good job about that.

    Looks like it’s gone already?

The current Beer Scene has been totally validated by having Banana Coconut and Cookies and Cream sell out in hours at $60ish dollars a bottle.

I’m ok with that, as long as milkshakes ipas don’t make a giant comeback.

I remember wanting one so bad back in the day. Then I finally got ahold of one and realized I was very mistaken
