If not for the green garnishy stuff, I was thinking it might be biscuits and gravy.

Good to hear from you Dave. I started getting over my apprehensions to move beyond lurker during @mattcrill stewardship and loved the verve that you and Maria @utopiajane brought to our little corner of the inter webs before CJ and the Lord led us. So many changes yet the heart of this remains- a welcoming, lively place to come together and muse about life and our favorite fermented fun.

I'm not so thoughtful and my memory is not so thorough.

I wish I had more time and attention for NBW. I love to post my thoughts, and I love to read others', but I can't quite keep up.

I'm far from poetic or insightful. But I love beer, and I love this community. And I appreciate that y'all tolerate my insipid rambling (or at least you're not outright antagonistic against it).

I don't remember exactly what got me going in NBW, but it was probably around the time I started to get involved in the forums in general, which would have been about the beginning of covid. That was a tough time in life, and whether anyone intended it or not, BA helped me through it.

I try to post at least once a weekend, and I think I do all right. My life has been greatly enriched since I started to do more than just review.

You've become an elder statesman here! HAHA
And you have most definitely added your juju to the camaraderie here.

Ok, not quite "elder" but definitely stately.

Good evening - one more for me this weekend, a decent if unexceptional offering - cheers!

    3.67
    /5 rDev -8.7%
    look: 3.5 | smell: 3.25 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 4

Packaged 12/16/2024 - enjoyed on 2/23/2025 - poured from a 12oz can into my Dogfish Head shaped pint glass.

Unclear, pale gold liquid with a fist of ivory receding promptly to a thin cap. Fine gentle lacing; average retention.

Aroma is vague with hints of citrus and tropical fruit, but at barely appreciable levels.

Bright lemon-lime flavors up front followed by a growing crackery sweetness. Orange blossoms, Meyer lemon leaves, and hints of tangelo/grapefruit. Moderate bitterness leading into a medium dry, crisp finish with the quietly distinctive house yeast notes around the edges.

Light bodied, soft, round mouth-feel with sufficient carbonation.

Better than the sum of its parts, though the "tropical" notes are largely MIA.

On such an historic and celebratory NBW/S, I needed to have one more New Beer to share with y'all.

Earlier this week, I popped into Rocket Market and grabbed a couple of tallboys. One of them was this, a "Northwest Style" IPA brewed by a brewery that brews English style beers in the decidedly not English city of Seattle:

Very much drinks like an English brewer's idea of a PNW IPA, but was quite nice, and an interesting change of pace.

Very blustery and rainy tonight. Between the high 40s temperatures and the wind howling away, we've got a Chinook on our hands here in Spokanistan. Over the last couple of days, virtually all of the roughly 7 inches of snow has melted. If I wasn't on a hill and lived near a creek or river, I'd be worried about flooding, something that's been occurring elsewhere in my region.

Stay warm and dry, folks! Cheers!
