    Good morning,
nice tasting this weekend and we also included a wine along the way (Berlucchi Franciacorta - CUVEE IMPERIALE BRUT - Franciacorta 12.5%).

Birrificio di Quero (Quero, ITA) - Helles (4.7%).

75 cl bottle (€4 at the brewery), taken out of the fridge and left to rest for 2 minutes... serving temperature: 7 °C. Drink accompanied by "Carasau" bread and semi-seasoned Sardinian wild boar salami.
On the label: "Lot: 4324 - Best before: 12/2025".
This is a mountain brewery, which was a stop both on the way there and on the way back from the week's holiday spent skiing in San Martino di Castrozza, in the Dolomites.
Beautiful golden color, very clean and almost completely transparent, with a nice head of foam (compact to the eye, but soft to the drink) that remains to act as a hat to the beer.
Fragrant and clean taste (not like the Marzen reported in the 2-liter bottle that probably lost a bit during the car trip ...).
Extreme minerality and lightness of the water (as immediately noticeable, especially in their low fermentations, but not only), just the right carbonation (medium).
The fresh and lively taste of cereals and bread crust, on the finish a herbaceous note (just like meadow grass) that makes the beer end with a pleasant light bitterness that cleans it and, always thanks to the sensitive purity of the water invites you to a subsequent immediate and full sip.
Crunchy, but quickly without invading the palate or leaving a long aftertaste.
Light aftertaste of breadcrumbs on the palate, but all very fresh and thirst-quenching.
Clean and super pleasant to drink.

"What a Helles should do" - my friend.
"Even without a real distinctive element that makes you recognize it, the base of very pure water that makes it of a different lightness, aside" - Me.

Enjoying one of my favorite local BA Beers.

    Wild Onion Drago (2022)

Full Cellaruary take linked here. Bottom line, this is very good, but short of great/outstanding at this stage, which I am chalking up to getting at a "deep deal" from a grocery store 15 months after release. All my other Drago experiences, be it fresh or celleared have been outstanding.

Glad NHL hockey is back. With Russia not invited to the Four Nations tournament, I had a two week break from hockey. As a Hawks fan, I've had a multi-year break from hometown professional hockey. Thank God for the Las Vegas Golden Knights!

First non NHL inductee into the Hockey Hall of Fame.

Very cool you'll get a chance to watch some hockey. To me, hockey and baseball are best in person if you can swing it, whereas basketball and football baring courtside seats are better on TV. YMMV

Enjoying catching up with the weekend posts. Great Sarah Vaughn performance captured by @Reef on Saturday!

First Sox broadcast at home for me since 2019 when they left WGN. Will be nice to catch replays while still listening on the radio when I'm home. Pulling a second beer to pair with the game and my pizza.

    Spiteful English IPA
