I remember and experienced mine - mostly because it was small and on a beach in Jamaica. Brother and I were in shorts and 1/2 blitzed at Margaritaville within 45 mins of "I do".

My son is getting married in 3 weeks. Doing what I can so he can enjoy it by taking on all the responsibility for the bar (BYOB location in the country) - to include getting 4 1/2 barrels of Spotted Cow set up for him/guests and 15 gallons of mixers etc. I'll bar tend, bounce, decorate, whip the caterers into shape, keep the DJ honest (first hint of the chicken dance, he loses 1/2 his fee) etc.

Do DJs still play the chicken dance?

Honestly, I'd just go for some simple things like lambic available in lieu of champagne or alongside it and some timed bottle openings that you can enjoy with guests that enjoy that kind of thing. If it's something you and your wife really care about then incorporating things like barley/wheat and hops into the decorations can be quite lovely.

Beyond that I think you get very quickly into the realm of deeply niche stuff that won't resonate with most people.

Best wedding I ever went to was when the father of the bride had 4 of his homebrews on tap at the reception.

Great ideas everyone. Keep em coming!

FYI, the bride is down with this. I wouldn't do it if she wasn't, I'm trying to keep her lol. But def good advice on not over doing it. There will be a lot of people there who get it, and a lot who aren't interested at all so we'll pick a couple things to do and leave some out. Most important thing is the beer!

    Hi all,

Just wanted to share the epic beer list I had at my wedding. The venue provided macros and the bottle list came from my personal stash.

Every hour additional bottles were opened (so you couldn't jump ahead but you could always go back). We themed each hour and I tried to give a good mix of options for each.

4 ounce pours we're the instructions given to the bartenders, which they didn't understand at first and I got a full pint of Cantillon lol.

The beer nerds loved the idea. The venue staff thought it was pretty cool. If you're planning a wedding and have a large collection, I strongly suggest it!

That’s an awesome list, i was lucky enough to get married in Waterbury, Vermont. I had a few cases of heady and a couple of kegs of hill farmstead…it’s an awesome feeling especially if the wife is on board

That's awesome! I was trying to get a keg of HF but the venue wouldn't allow kegs.

I got married at the Reservoir. They were able to hook me up. I was really surprised. I originally asked as a joke and they came through. I had a keg of Edward

I'd worry about a random uncle getting absolutely tanked on accident!

Congrats, great list. I like the deliberate pacing and intentionality in that order.

I had Notch German Afternoons, Allagash White, Fiddlehead IPA, and Miller High.

But damn, that’s an awesome concept/list.

I was hoping to be able to have homebrew at my wedding - but due to local laws anything had to be procured by the venue through their distributor, so even without homebrew I couldn't even supply my own. Fortunately, they had a few craft options besides the usual BMC. We had Allagash White, Jack's Abby and Pretty Things, IIRC.

Oh sick, love the Res. I know Blackback (because it's awesome) and Pro Pig (initially for BBQ now because ???) get a lot of attention to, but The Reservoir is the best of the bunch to just hang out at IMO.

How many bottles of each did you have ?

I had kegs of Hop Devil and Stoudts weizen. This was in 96 just a few months after Victory started out. It was hot and all was kicked, we did a keg of lager at the after party.

    Enjoy
