I hardly ever obsess about any DFH these days but tried a 90 Minute last week and was pleasantly surprised. Added bonus, they are somewhat available in 19.2 stovepipes. Just sayin'.

Dogfish shared this cool video today, long but not too long…

Just neat to hear the story and then see it recreated; the start of one long strange trip…to bring it back full circle to their latest collab beer being discussed in another thread.

I love the old brewers story about sitting over the kettle.

That actually was interesting. Here’s a semi-relevant DFH beer I picked up yesterday. :beers:

I haven't been excited for Dogfish Head since maybe a year or two after college. Back when they actually had beers like Indian Brown around. Now, they don't register for me at all.

What.. a beer that might have seemed cutting edge 15 years ago as part of a cobranding gimmick with a band that ended 30 years ago doesn’t seem relevant to you? They’re using it to promote vinyl records, for Pete’s sake!

I can ever get WWS or 120min.
But 90min. Is one of my favorite go-to IPAs.

When Sea Quench Ale went away, I did too.

I asked their rep at a tasting about what happened, and they said they were cutting back distribution - I thought I was told it was discontinued, but apparently I am wrong, based on a quick search. Either way, that was the only beer of theirs I liked.

The WWW stout and Utopias WWW in my fridge courtesy of @Ozzylizard and the ongoing BIF (in addition to my excitement) would suggest so!

I was shocked when this one went away. It was super good for what it was and it seemed to be just ahead of the curve in terms of fruited kettle sours blowing up

I just had their Greatful Dead Juicy Pale Ale last night and it was quite good. The can art “steal your face” GD logo was just a bonus.

No, but I don't blame DFH. Like everyone else they're victimized by the triple tier distro system here in FL. All brewers are getting it in the ass...
...but Jezuz K Riest I miss those bombers of My Antonia!

A brewery could have gone in and out of relevancy multiple times over the lifespan of this thread.

Really miss Aprihop IPA. That was different enough that it stuck out in a sea of highly-hopped ales back in the day. The apricot flavor and sweetness just added a bit more of a refreshment aspect to the IPA. I doubt they'll ever make it in quantity again but I'll always have fond memories of it.

Dogfish Head is wholly-owned by Boston Beer Co., the #5 brewer marketing in the US. In most markets, Boston distributes through the second largest wholesale group, the Molson Coors network (often along side Constellation's Mexican brands) and BBC has moved DFH to those MC distributors where it can. So, how has the the 3 Tier system hurt Dogfish Head?

There's no doubt both Boston and DFH have lost market share but how would ending 3 Tier have helped them? Would BBC/DFH set up their own wholly-owned distribution network throughout the country? Sounds expensive.
