    TGIF cheers advocates…!

Westmalle Tripel… this weekend we’re attending an art exhibition in a nearby town. Not my own work, that of a friend.

    Cheers.

Michelle Trachtenberg recently passed away so I attempted this:

    Good morning,
this is today's beer that I put on the thread dedicated to the style.
Reading the label I would have expected, or rather, I would have hoped for something more balanced and appreciable, but so be it.
Evidently the current concept of Imperial Milk Stouts (fortunately not all of them, but especially the modern ones) is something that is much closer to a "Pastry", rather than an enveloping beer yes, but with roasted, chocolatey grist and with lactose to make the beer creamy and soft.
In this case we are closer to a liquid dessert instead, in my opinion.

Good day BAs! Thanks @Shanex for opening the bar! And @Jack_14, I agree with your general evaluation of modern (current) milk stouts - add junk because it's easier and cheaper than actually producing a milk stout (Although, honestly, I might have picked one up just to tick and review, followed by a drain pour).

Today's New breakfast Beer is certainly no drain pour - it's another EXCELLENT English Barleywine from my favorite brewery that does NOT distribute anywhere near where I exist:

Straight Jacket from Revolution. Received from @Whyteboar in Barleywine and Stout BIF #2. Received 22/02/25, reviewed 07/03/25 (Review 3464). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
12 oz can stamped on the bottom “FILLED 10-25-2023”. Stored at home at 39 degrees F and served at 55.5 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 60.6 degrees F.
Final impression and summation: 4.5 Excellent English barleywine – the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. The ethanol is barely noticeable, making this VERY chuggable – in fact, it just seems to crawl down my esophagus on its own. Thanks Craig – delectable!

Morning, BAs! Made some breakfast sandwiches for the kids, and a killer breakfast taco for myself. Doubling down on coffee this morning with some Brunch Junkie courtesy of @CBlack85 .

Getting some work done from home, too, even though I'm technically on weekend. Cheers!

    G'day all!

Well, we got more than a dusting of snow overnight. I "swept" some snow aside so I could back out of my parking spot.

The beer was canned January 13th and is an okay Hazy that I give credit to the Citra hops.

    Prost!

Rare and unusual weekday drinking but it's the Women's Big10 Tournament and we're playing #1 USC right now (who are really big and really good).
