I got on this thread earlier because I thought it was about beererators but then I saw the video. I think that is a bunch of hoodee.

but I’ve had a beer fridge a long time, from back when I tried to make beer….
But I still have it and think it is essential…
My wife, of course, doesn’t understand, and thinks I should clear out everything more than a year old, but I have some very old imperial stouts in the back which I am sure are just getting better

I’ve got 2, one of which is dedicated exclusively to sours.

You surely don't want to take the chance of cross-contamination of your beers.

We moved from an apt to a house in the burbs about three years ago. In the apt my beer was a constant problem volume-wise, not to mention I had to pick and choose which beers to add to it from my limited “apt sized cellar” in order to have the appropriate selection of beer available to me at any which time…i.e., which stout, barleywine, sour, etc. do I want to be drinking before / after the IPAs that require constant refrigeration…

So needless to say, getting me a large and dedicated beer fridge for the garage was one of “her” priorities for our move, which I of course gratefully appreciate, and I personally wouldn’t look back for one hot minute…!

Haha that and I keep the sour fridge a little bit warmer than the other one.

Having a dedicated beer fridge is the best thing I ever did. It separates the heavy hitters from the rest. I also have a beer fridge dedicated for tastings only, for those dedicated tasting nights !!

I'm quite fond of my beer fridge. My wife has commandeered one rack for milk, eggs, and other foods, and I temporarily lose another rack another during Thanksgiving week for the turkey et al. Other than that, it's all mine.

I kinda miss mine (below, obviously an old pic) even though I don't drink as much as I once did and also cut down on buying beer - eventually.

Don't laugh - I often bought a LOT more than I consumed and it took a while to balance it out . I also found my "running errands" trips became a lot quicker when they no longer included stopping at 2 or 3 liquors stores to do a little "just browsing" along with the post office, drug store, Wawa and Tractor Supply.

When the ol' Amana finally quit for good (at only 33 years old!) Jersey Central Power & Light came by, picked it up and sent me a check for $50!

Out of respect, I spent it on beer.

If I had a beer fridge I wouldn't even have it plugged in. I prefer to drink my beer at basement temps and when I buy beer it doesn't linger around.

I call that "encroachment", and yes, it happens to me too!

I bought a small one at a "garbage sale" a couple of years ago for $20, I can shoe horn about 28 beers in it. Best $20 I ever spent. Almost.

I have one of those wrapped Goudenbands waiting for the ten year mark.

I miss those Sam Adams’ imperial series. The white was panned for being far off style, but that was a tasty brew, IMO.

My wife got me a counter height NewAir, which I have seriously outgrown into a need for something bigger. I’m eye-balling those commercial windowed display case jobs.

Sometimes any beer can be the right beer at the right time and place. I'm thinking lawnmower beer. You don't have to have a certificate to enjoy, and no one with a certificate can tell you that you didn't enjoy it.
