Happy Saint Joseph’s Day to everyone. Clearing bottles from the refrigerator so I have room to clear the rest of my cellar later this year. These are sold reasonably priced as four packs and are a great value to the pricier BCBS selections.

Central Waters Black Gold is my favorite annual Midwest BA stout release. Firestone Walker Parabola is my favorite West Coast counterpart. We don’t get much here from the East Coast.

So glad Central Waters opened their second taproom. I’ve really enjoyed the beers I’ve been able to try brewed at their Milwaukee location. Definitely worth a stop while visiting or passing through Milwaukee.

Good day BAs! Thanks @ChicagoJ for opening the bar! Looks like another temporary "sunny" morning here - if we get more than six hours of sun, I'll burn some more of last years leaves.

All trips to Grand Rapids involve at least one stop at Brewery Vivant for meals/beer! This is one of their better efforts! Thanks Craig!

Up for 5 hrs and it feels like days. Ding Ding kitty loves her black cherry & white oak fire warmth. Winter storm here is South of us pretty much so meh on that scene. Plenty to do around the shack and this brew will enhance these activities. Blackstack Petting Zoo IPA. Camera is being a funt today...
    Cheers!!

This came into work Monday, and my AM found spots on the rails today. I decided to get a 4 pack, and it is interesting to say the least.

Ok, this looks strange, but considering the fruit used, it doesn't seem as strange. It is green in color. There's some chunks in this beer There's a ton of carbonation bubbles rising in the glass to produce a 3 finger white/green head. The head is super long lasting, and doesn't seem to want to dissipate.
The aroma is full on kiwi and a hint of tartness to it with plenty of sweetness. The beer does also smell slightly creamy.
Taste - I have to start with the head, because I have to go through that to get to the beer. I get an ice cream like flavor to it with a ton of kiwi. When I finally break through I just get full on kiwi flavor. There's a lot of sweetness to it. There's a bit of tartness that shows up, but it is very minimal. I do know for sure that real fruit is used and it doesn't taste artificial at all.
The body is quite full and smooth feeling. There's a bit of a bubbly feeling, which doesn't surprise me.
I am not going to lie - this is one hell of a strange beer. It is well made, but I am not sure it's my cup of tea.

Time for the weekly blizzard here in Minnesnowta - blizzard warning for today until late. Ran to grocery store to grab a few things and the snow was really starting to come down. Haven't had Beer Nuts in ages, holy cow have they climbed in price! Anyway, cheers to hump day!

Happy Wednesday ba. Typical day off for me. Into it here w/ National broccoli day, ddh iipa, other half. (Citra/ incognito, mosaic cryo, hbc1019, riwaka, simcoe cryo) a rather sharp and slightly spicy hop punch upfront. Slight fruit notes of lemon, berries, and melon. Slightly bitter on the finish with an odd/off flavor. Interesting, but really not that good.

There was another storm forecast for Sunday for Minnesota, but it now appears to be an all-rain event....
