Honestly, that could be pretty great and interesting to see how it would evolve over time.

Just curious if the tropical hopslam would still be as bitter to balance its residual sweetness.

That didn't take long -- Bell's announced on social media today that Oracle is now available in the Café and the General Store only. There's plenty of requests in the Comments for some distro, but no reply from Bell's on those pleas yet.

There's a fun experiment going on for Bell's fans in Chicago...the Hopleaf has 2017 and 2024 Cherry Stout on draft. Surprisingly, the 2017 (left) is more Cherry forward, and overall better, than the 2024 in my opinion! Might have been a great year for cherries, maybe the new owners are cutting a few corners, but regardless I loved trying them together. Cheers!

This link isn't the news release that I saw yesterday, which I can't find now, but Bell's will release Oberon Light on Oberon Day, March 24th. I think it said it would be available in all markets.

Look forward to reviews on this. The low 4% abv is of interest.

Interesting. I’m sure there will also be a dozen different Oberon variants alongside this.

Well a dozen variants is a close guess.....ten actually. Plus a Midwest-style fair/carnival including a Ferris wheel. It's this coming Monday the 24th. Here's the Facebook link:

    That… looks fun!

I went for the first time in my life last year and it was a lot, to put it mildly. No idea if I’ll keep that it mind come Monday or decide to brave the crowds again.

We went the first year, or at least the first year that they offered tours of the Comstock brewery as part of the fun. On the bus they gave us Oberon donuts from Sweetwater's and an Oberon to wash it down with. It was a fun time.

The next year we went there but it was so crowded that we walked across the street to Old Dog Tavern and had an Oberon with lunch there. We haven't tried going since then.

Heard the 40th Anniversary is a Rum BA Oberon with Orange Bitters with Malort.

    is that true @Whyteboar !?

No clue. I'm not privy to insider information, didn't even know about the BBA Coffee Expedition until after you told me about them.

Smart play. I went looking for Oberon Donuts last year but the Sweetwaters I stopped at didn’t carry ‘em. This year I’ll stick to Stadium.

    Yes, I’m replying to myself.

I am a little surprised more breweries aren’t playing around with Malort. Seems like one of those things that’s bound to trend eventually. And when it does I’ll save you a pour, @Resistance88!

I just assumed Midwest fairs were the national norm. What’s different between these and other US regions?
