The bottle was dated 8/28/2024. I thought is was really good, but I haven’t had many to compare the vintages.

Happy Orval Day. Thanks to @Beersnake for being the starter, emcee, etc.

Bottled-on 04-29-24 (international dating). It's been probably 20 years since I last had this beer, and it's not exactly what I remember it being. I remember being shocked at the barnyard character in the aroma and taste. This one is modest in what I remember. I need to drink one of these more often.

Happy Orval Day! I made a special side trip today just to get some.

And when I saw that date I made sure to get extras :sunglasses:

It's just fantastic! Lot's of bitterness with a not so insignificant amount of funk already. Cheers!

Enough time plus nap to recover from my double digit ABV NBW selection, and now I'm in a proper mood and state to enjoy one of my favorite beers on Earth. Always on the lookout for a buy Orval get an Orval glass deal.

I like an aggressive pour at home to dissipate the carbonation, plus head is great. With an Orval pour, it's effortless, just comes out of the bottle perfect, and very creamy.

Cheers, BA King of the Pour!

Hell yes! I have seen Belgians eating the head with a spoon. Aggressive pours are a must when it comes to Belgian beers. Nice job, my friend!

No Orval in the house. Only place on the way home from work cards you and my license is expired so it’s a no go. I have a bottle or two or three of Rayon Vert but last time I posted that in An Orval thread it was deleted as off topic. Eventually added back but it annoyed me enough to not contribute a Rayon again.

    Enjoy

That is the same batch I posted earlier, without reading the date correctly. I made the same mistake when I was in Norway with the train schedule, and asked why their train schedule was out-of-date.

Too bad. I would be curious to hear how it's holding up. Last had it at an Orval Day event roughly 5 years ago. It was still absolutely delicious back then. Unfortunately, the bartender confirmed it was their last bottle.
