Semi-retired after 17-1/2 years working in a licensed group home for individuals with mental illness. Now I'm working part-time for the same agency in intermittent home-based services.

I'm an internet computer bot. Pay sucks, shitty hours and sometimes I think, 'Is this really a living?' " but, ya know, what else can I do?

Google is saying it won't give me the answer unless I give them 50 of the points. So, forget it.

For the moment, I own and manage a restaurant. I'm in the process of selling and retiring.

I have gone from Systems Programmer (per previous thread) to Systems/Infrastructure Administrator... either way, still a thoroughly angry typer. I script stuff that I have to do past the second time I've had to do manually-ish as a result of (l)user behavior.

Former high-school dropout. Enlisted in the army for a bit, left on good terms because I didn’t see myself being a lifer there. Back as a civilian young man ended up doing various small jobs for the town like distributing the local magazines. Then followed a course and formation to be working in administration as a simple « paper boy » (no degrees).

In my mid-20s decided to graduate and go in University for a year, not that it made a major difference in my now-life, but the education I got was enlightening.

Taking it easy now, there has been ups and downs as you could have guessed. Semi-artist with a not so rampant and contained penchant for hoppy beverages.

Retired for over 10 years now. Worked for the same waste water treatment Authority for 37 years. Retired as a control.room operator in the energy recovery facility. We used sewage sludge as a fuel in a fluidized bed to raise steam for power generation.

Stuck in retail. Need a better job. Those $20 4-packs don't pay for themselves.

I'm fully retired (even more so now since I'm no longer volunteering at the two places that I was doing back in the previous thread). Still a part-time pub crawler.

Right now I guess you mark me down as an operating engineer too (that’s what I put down on my tax return anyway).

I’m a seasonal worker at a small placer gold mine in Alaska. A lot of equipment operating, a lot of manual labor, a little bit of mechanic/metal work. Whatever I’m told.

Thinking seriously about a career change though!

In that 2016 thread, I said "Systems Engineer and Project Manager in my main job, also a Taekwondo instructor on the side."

I'm no longer a Project Manager, and no longer a Taekwondo instructor. I'm semi-retired, having recently cut my hours back. I'm still a systems/computer engineer, working at the same place for 42 years. I'll probably fully retire in a couple of years.
