Good day BAs! Thanks, @MadMadMike, for opening the bar - I guess @Shanex over-slept.

We had a dusting of snow overnight - that'll teach Spring to try to show up early!

    Today's New Breakfast Beer:

    A local from "da burg" - a decent chocolate-covered cherry-ish Baltic Porter.

Final impression and summation: 4.25 While the beautiful ruby coloration and the ugly precipitate cancel each out, the head and lacing keep the appearance at a 4.25. The aroma and taste reinforce each other, making this a chocolate/chocolate-covered cherry treat, although the cherries could be, IMHO, more forward. And the mouthfeel is distinctly more medium than full. Still, quite decent.

    Rating 4.07, rDev -4.5

Sick with what I hope is just a head cold. Nothing major right now, but enough that I'm not going anywhere.

So, let's pour a beer shall we?

Good morning BAs! My first breakfast stout in quite awhile - Westbrook’s Anniversary “Chocolate & Sea Salt Imperial Stout”:

Canned 11/20/23. Poured at 50° (my chiller is running a bit cold). Salty chocolate and semi sweet. No hint of abv (11%) in taste. A really nice stout from one of my favorite brewers!

Sunny and low 80s forecast today. I have one more round of labs this afternoon, then probably a beer run. Cheers and have a wonderful Wednesday y’all!

Cutting back a bit recently because of some stomach issues. Nothing serious. I can have a glass of wine or two with dinner, but beer is more or less advised not to have on a daily basis for some time :slight_frown:

At Back Shed Brewing and trying to help liquidate their remaining beer. I am going to miss my local. I had this at their closing party, but it was too crazy here to review.

Murky looking, juicy looking orange pouring beer with a white head and some lacing.
Light tropical hop notes to the aroma.
Taste is dominated by the hops as expected. Lots of juicy flavor here. I get a lot of mango in the flavor. Slight hint of bitterness on the back.
The body is juicy feeling. It has the feeling of the tropical juice I drank on vacation. Smooth and hides the 7%
This is a good beer. I will miss this place.

This is an amber pouring beer and is clear looking. There's an off white head to the beer with a bit of lacing.
The aroma is sadly so faint. Just the faint hint of hops, and slightly piney.
Taste - there's a good hint of caramel malt up front. This malty flavor does turn toward the hops on the backside. I am getting a bit of pine in the flavor, but it isn't extremely strong.
I do like the feeling and the hops do coat my throat a bit. Smooth and nice body.
This isn't as hoppy and piney as I would like, but it is a good beer.

Probably the top rated NEIPA available to me where I am (That’s really the only reason I picked it up). Not my usual cup of tea, but I can appreciate it for what it is
