Guide for adding pictures to the forums and database

Ugh. So fkn frustrating. Every. Single. Time I want to post a simple Pic, it's this long and frustrating process. Sometimes it works, mostly doesn't.
Can someone, anyone, provide an updated step by step? The image resize and hosting sites come and go, so the info at start of thread are outdated. I'd be so much more active if only... why is it so convoluted?

 

Ok, that works for resizing, but how to post link?

 

Folks seem to use https://postimages.org/ and have luck with it. Just upload and use the direct link they give you. Good luck and ask away if any issues. Try one here if needed.

 

Postimages is great, I agree. Works well for WBAYDN etc….

I have given up posting beer pics because it was always a nightmare to resize them to the required pixels.

So, this from post image, directly into text box. Quality sucks. It only allows certain resizing options. This is thumbnail. Awful.

 

Ok, this slightly better. Used resizing for forums/websites.

 

Paste right into the text box. Don’t need to click any other buttons or monkey with it.

I’ve found the quality to be very good. I don’t know why your pics look small.

 

I do the direct link it gives you (e.g., https://i.postimg.cc/8P8jJ2y5/20250409-173502.jpg ) into the image icon box. This way you can see how the picture will look before posting the message. Also, don't worry about resizing photos for thread posts unless you really want to.

I didnt resize at all and just did direct link using image emoji and link box. Yeah, must less hassle, but still a little small. I guess that'll do. Cheers!

I haven't used Imgur.com for a month or so. Last night I went there and found a new design of the website and the procedure to add a pic. I figured the part out to add a pic but then couldn't find the Direct Link to bring here to BA. Eventually I found a link to 'Go back to the old screen' in the lower right corner, so I did that and was able to get the link. Has anyone had this happen, and were you able to find the Direct Link on the new screen?

 

I’m not on this site nearly as much as I used to be, and haven’t uploaded a photo in a few weeks. Had been using Imgur (the app) to do so for years, used to be a simple process. But when I tried to do so just now, it wasn’t working. Did I miss some change here on BA or on Imgur that would explain this?
