Staying at home tonight and hitting the cellar. Started with Deschutes Black Butte XXI, followed by a 2011 GIBCBS, and finishing with a Two Brothers Northwind from 2010-2012 (lot 3379, can't find year). All held up GREAT, especially the BCBS. Cheers LNBAers.

Having an early lunch with some Coral. I think I prefer the OG Lager over their Pilsner. But their Stout is by far the best of their mainstream beers.

Good day BAs! Thanks @Schmittymack for opening the bar - that's some significant cellar cleaning!

    Today's New Breakfast Beer:

    Really disappointed in this one:

Hippy Sippy from Fat Head’s. Purchased at Franklin Beer (Franklin, PA) 11/03/25. 12 fl oz can, $ 11.00 (Including tax)/ $ 0.917 fl oz. Reviewed 17/04/25 (Review 3506). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Final impression and summation: 3.5 Possibly the most flavorless stout I’ve had in a looong time. Sure, there’s some weak roasted malt and I can maybe imagine some char, but I’m not detecting the usual suspects of “dark fruit”, chocolate, or coffee. Looks and feels good, tastes and smells pretty weak. One and done.

Sorry to hear about your flavorless stout @Ozzylizard . Their IPAs are awesome. Not going deep into cellar clearing, this is just over a half year old, and tasting mighty fine.

I must add that this beer is an ugly duckling. Great taste and not chalky which is surprising given the level of sediment in it. In the top 5 thickest-feeling beers I've had.

Good morning BAs. Productive so far, taking a lunch break with Taxman’s “No
    Sparge Imperial Golden Ale”:

Canned 3/10/23. Poured at 56°. Think Duvel with an annoying sour green apple nose/taste (the farmhouse yeast?).

More packing in prep for my upcoming move. Weather is nice, not too hot this morning. Have a thirst-free Thursday and Cheers y’all!

Timber Ales / Horus Aged Ales / Mindful Ales -- Breakfast With Maris
English barleywine aged in maple bourbon barrels and conditioned on cinnamon
    ABV: 13%; pouring temperature: 50.9 °F; canning info: X 4 I (I'm guessing 24 04 09)
    Source: local purchase

    4.26/5 rDev +1.4%
    look: 4.5 | smell: 4 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4.75 | overall: 4.25

Clear and dark brown pour, opaque in the glass; very dense and thick head, tan colored, creamy with a gently rolling texture on top. Pleasantly sweet nose; maple syrup and cinnamon; french toast. The taste amplifies the aroma; mapel syrup-sweet with plenty of cinnamon; not quite cloying but close; barely perceptible dark malt beneath the sweetness; a bit of bitterness detected at the finish. Heavy, heavy body; thick, chewy mouthfeel; sludgy; nice sense of alcohol warmth cutting through the residual sugars.

I would say this is a must-try beer for lover's of huge, adjunct laden, high ABV barleywines. Personally, I was hoping for a more traditional English barleywine, but I can't complain too much since the beer's creation is recounted on the can. I somewhat knew what I was getting into with this beer. The bourbon barrel aging phase is somewhat buried in the maple and cinnamon flavors, but it does become a bit noticeable with the alcohol feel and warmth.

...going to have oven baked hot wing for lunch...afternoon massage later in the afternoon...checking out my favorite beer emporium's Thursday delivery goodies after the massage...more beer later in the evening...
