What beer are you drinking now? #4563

Cheers to 33 years.

 

1) Angry Chair Tampa Native (8.0% no canning date): A NEIPA from Florida with DDH Citra for flavors of orange, pineapple, citrus flower, pineapple, and green melon.
versus
2) Angry Chair The Rake (8.0% no canning date): A NEIPA from Florida with DDH Citra and Mosaic for flavors of orange, tropical green melon, and sweet berries and flower.

Angry Chair IPA Battle. This is actually my first beer from Angry Chair as we got some distro our Florida friends. Don't know much about the brewery. No canning dates, but assuming fresh. First is Tampa Native with all Citra hops. Bright orange, pineapple, sweet melon and mango. Complex and bright flavors. This is very reminiscent of Toppling Goliath DDH King Sue, but a bit sweeter. This is top notch.
Next is The Rake. Citra and Mosaic here. Very similar to the first one, but the Mosaic is noticeable. Similar, but more tropical green melon and sweet berries. Still bright from the Citra to not make it too dense or sweet. Near perfect balance of Citra and Mosaic here.
New to Angry Chair, but very impressed so far. Slightly prefer the sole Citra IPA here as it makes a beautiful array of flavors.
Winner: Angry Chair Tampa Native

 

Evolution’s Lot #3 IPA. Lots of pine and resin, intense WCIPA vibes. Cheers and great evening!

Pours a pale, slightly-opaque orange, one finger of airy head. Abundant lacing. For me, the nose is muted (cold and as it warms) and I'm only really picking up on orange and some trace grapefruit. Taste is citrusy (orange, tangerine, hints of grapefruit) and some piney bitterness. Mouthfeel is moderately carbonated. Finish is dry, mostly citrus rind and the accompanied bitterness. Very crushable at 7%.

Working at home tomorrow so I stopped at Bull ‘n Bear Brewery for a couple of pops. This one is Initial Public Offering, a WCIPA. Cheers!

 

You're lucky to get TN distributed in your city! Southern Florida doesn't see that beer at all.. we do get "The Rake", "Space Grass" and some of their other core beers. I was fortunate to try Tampa Native last year on a trip to the brewery. It's likely the best Florida hazy I've tried.

Doom Volume. An IPA brewed by Veil. Almost as good as their Master Shredder.

 

From Tuesday - Speedway Stout - German Chocolate Cake. Speedway Stout is always a good time. Didn't expect to be hit with such a charry bitterness up front, but the individual ingredients were all very distinguishable.



And from right now - Humble Forager Brewery - Ash. Second of the mixed 4-pack. Very lacking in carbonation but very reminiscent of French toast. Gotta invent a score for it, because there's no real sense of scale when you're all over the place with styles sometimes.

After staying an extra 2 hours at work, came home and walked to the library only to find the book that was "on shelf" wasn't on the shelf and no one could find it. That's cool. Sportspuck is almost over and there's not much else to do.

 

Haha Thanks....you know it hasn't been all bliss but I can't really complain when she's put up with my shit for all these years.
