Bake it into the crust. I often mix leaf spices and hot peppers into my dough, so this isn’t too much of a stretch.

    Might have to start experimenting.

The other toppings are pineapple and hallucinogenic mushrooms.

A barleywine that is not barrel-aged? Is that even allowed anymore?

I'll try it if I see it.

if its over 10 dollars thats some bullshit, can just buy fuckload of bigfoot . Esp from 2 brewers that dont hold a candle to SN when it comes to any non BA Barleywine.

If it's under, say 8.99... Ill bite, but knowing i can get Parabola or Paraboloid for a dollar more is gonna be tough

    EDIT:
Nvm those black label FWs are for the dorks on their beer club:stuck_out_tongue:

I have no nostalgia for hopped up barleywines and wish we didn’t bury them in the pet sematary

Agreed on hoppy barleywines, although I do miss a dry hopped stout every now and again

That said, non-BA barleywines used to be a real treat that are getting real tough to find

My hot take is that I've never really cared for SA Bigfoot despite being a big fan of SA going back over a decade at this point

Anybody else bet the odds on Fan Duel that the next Deep Woods release post will have the statement “Rev Beer hasn’t been as good since BeerCruncher left?”

I love piney, fiery, bitter af barleywines and strong ales, but there's definitely a time and place and niche audience for them. Typically, for me, that's the dead of winter, playing Dark Souls, hating life, and ripe for a beverage to kick my ass.

I mean, somebody keeps buying Arrogant Bastard.

    Got an e-mail this afternoon.

    Greetings, Season Ticket Holder Family—
and welcome back to the Deep Wood.

As the crows cackle from dark looming trees, the air grows heavier by the day. Something is shifting. Quietly forming. Waking beneath the surface.

Prepare for the reopening of our vast Deep Wood Library with an afternoon of rare, reverent, and wild selections. We’ll be returning the coveted Mystery Lotto Boxes and introducing an entirely new way to experience the vertical history of VSOJ.

    Deep Wood Library Hours
    May 16th, 2025
    2–10 PM
    Revolution Kedzie Taproom

Also, here’s an interesting rumor I’ve heard. There’s going to be a ‘sequel’ to Ten Year Beer for their 20th Anniversary but no cherry.

Yes, looks like a more recent label for XV has included cherries. The label from December in this post did not list it fwiw. No idea if the original label submission was incorrect or if a subsequent change in the recipe. Or maybe there are two beers. One wick cherries and one without.

Hey all, James from Rev here. We're going to shoot over a full email today for Season Ticket Holders detailing the Library Hours event on 5/16, but here's some early leaks straight from the source:

    - We're going to be selling (a very tiny number of) VSOJ vertical boxes
    - We're doing another run of the Library Lotto Boxes and they're pretty stacked
    - Killer tap list such as DBVSOJ, Apple Brandy VSOJ, Boss Ryeway, and other bangers
    - Season ticket holders get a free pour!
    - Bringing back the Mystery Library Keg guessing game
    - Marty announces the 2025-2026 Deep Wood Season!
    - Supporting our friends at WITS

This event came about since we didn't have an April release but still wanted a way to get some great beers into your faces before our official releases start a little later this year. Hope you all can make it!
