Good day BAs! Thanks @snaotheus for opening the bar - looks like you'll be hitting the rack fairly soon!

Sun is shining here - may be forced to lower the grass level once it dries up - oh well, I guess I've got to start sometime. My Thai Reds are growing - this year only going to plant peppers and melons. That's my plan until Mrs. Lizard demands that I plant some tomatoes that'll never get picked.

    Today's New breakfast beer:

Cellar Cuvee 15 from Jackie O’s. Received from their website. 12.7 fl oz capped bottle, price unrecorded. Reviewed 28/04/25 (Review 3517). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Final impression and summation: 4 Credited label artist – Sandy Plunkett. Aroma is initially bourbon barrels, which quickly fades as it breathes, leaving only honey and maple; fortunately, not enough honey to be considered a Braggot. After yesterday’s journey into hyperglycemia, distinctly a pleasant change.

    Rating 3.98, rDev -7%

Belatedly, two beers I drank while out. In the hotel drinking a third that I'll post about shortly...[IMG]
First, at Tap & Crowler (previously Tap & Growler, previously Tap & Tumbler, if the logos
on their old growlers are to be believed?), a collaboration between Minoh and Ruse called Echo Blossom, an aptly named honey lager at 5.5%. This was quite good.

Second, at Uoki, their "double IPA" which is 7.5%. This was quite mediocre. Uoki seems like a brewery-themed izakaya rather than a brewery that is an izakaya.

Now I'm in a Japanese hotel drinking a surprisingly nice random pair of beverages...Swedish Black IPA (O/O + Bad Seed Slice of Moonshine) and Taiwanese sherry bomb (Kavalan Oloroso Sherry Oak)

This is a damn good beer. I've had it several times. And Happy 90th to your stepgranddad. I mean 90 years? Wow! He looks like he has at least another 20 - 30 years!

Looks like I get to play in the rain today. Not by choice so I'll have a beer now to help improve the attitude. Just hauled ass clearing out garage stall 2 to get my new car in there. Now I gotta secure my trailer. I beat the 1st round of heavy rains and lightning. A 2nd round this afternoon is the one we're concerned about. Sooooo....
    Summit Triumphant Session IPA
    Cheers!

Keep the Tokyo pics coming @snaotheus , and Congrats on the big 90th BD for Stepdad @Shanex .

Bought a single bottle of this to see the quantity I will get for my brother this Summer in Vegas. This is one of two beers he introduced me to that I love many years later, and along with Central Waters Black Gold my two favorite annual BA stout releases.

    Firestone Walker Parabola (2025)

Hot take is this comes in very hot, more so than other versions I recall, but perhaps this is the freshest bottle I tried, vs. aged several months to a few years bottles I tried in the past. Reminds me of Bell's Expedition Stout (too bitter fresh, very nice aged 1-2 years).
