JAFB Hefeweizen - Uhh, wow? One of the treats brought back after surviving Easter (Saturday) with the family. Sure am glad I did that. Great thing to pop between the endless pile of chores. Smells flavorful, tastes flavorful. Perfect quantity of clove, lemon, banana. A little yeast. Well done.

Was looking at things at the store and happened to see another beer with the GABF gold mark. That and this one gave me the crazy notion to wonder if someone had tried chasing medalist beers, given that the top 250 already exists and is enough work. You forget sometimes how many, even locally achieve great heights.

Also the lack of west coast IPAs. Pulled a random beer out of the fridge the other day, which happened to be a westie and it hit so well, way more than expected, but there were next to zero amongst the zillion hazies on the shelves at the store. Cmon... but that's two from memory that were all about a dank, resinous quality and stuck.

 

This beer is good, and that's the Truth!

Well, this is a random beer that I didn’t expect to see on tap here in SoCal. It’s probably the most stoked I’ve been on a beer on tap in over ten years (before so much Midwest and East Coast distro came west, along with random local offerings that kicked ass [think Noble Ale Works days. Alpine…]) Anyway, this beer rocks. And maybe it’s a sign for @JayORear to move back home.
