When I'm traveling and there is Pliny on draft that's what I will drink

Pliny on draft at the Daily Pint in Santa Monica. Paired it with their insane selection of scotch.

I used to visit CO a lot for hiking.

Those trips got a whole lot more valuable when they started getting Pliny. Pretty cool being able to grab a few bottles of Pliny to sip in the evening after some great mountain hikes and/or disc golf.

I’ve only had Pliny once, but I wasn’t that overwhelmed.
Even though I live in Vermont, I’m not a Heady fan
I think Very Green and others from TreeHouse are probably better. Also Dinner from Maine Beer Co.
Abner plus Double xx and Solitude and Society # from Hill Farmstead are great.
I used to love Lawson’s Double and Triple Sunshine but I’ve recently been disappointed.

    in conclusion. Probably Abner.

Pliny, no question. Almost enough to single-handedly make me move back to CA; fortunately, I have other more "reasonable" reasons that may take me back sooner than later.

Heady is a close second; for an everyday drinker, SoS is a tad below both, with some points added for accessibility. @Roguer

Interesting. It's a very good beer, no doubt, but have to say I thought Harlan and Ephraim were superior (if we're just talking about HF beers).

Different strokes and all that, I'm just a bit surprised given how many other excellent IPA's/DIPA'S HF makes.

What is the definition of a DIPA?

Also, next time someone asks why folks think Murkbombs are ugly, show them this pic.

Well, since Imperial IPAs have been around for a lot longer than DIPAs, are they excluded from this discussion? Cuz I've had a lot of great locally made ImpIPAs that I'd put up against any, they just never got more than 30-50 miles from home.

If you just want to include the more widely known ones, then it's probably Pliny (even though Blind Pig is better).

Very HHHazyyy canned and most recently. Very green on draft from the source. HF drafts were incredible from my memory nearly 10 years ago. Pliny for the WC— probably the most reliably excellent beer in existence.

We routinely get most of those Hill drafts at multiple bars within a two mile radius of me.

It's Heady in a cakewalk. The aroma & taste have yet to be replicated by any measure. People were literally filling growlers in the bathroom during its heyday and getting beaucoup coin on the secondary market. Despite some tweaks here & there over the years, Kimmich's base recipe remains the standard, and it never fails to disappoint whether you prefer can or glass.
P.S. I have no problem w/ PtE as an answer if we're merely talking about balance. All things considered, I said what I said. Cheers!!!
