I wasn’t sure if there were new protocols for starting this thread these days. But “follow a @Shanex opening post” is a rule I will acquiesce to every time. And congratulations, you talented and apparently virile gentleman.

I am drinking this one before turning in. I hope every Advocate on this thread has an excellent beer filled Sunday. Cheers!

 

I don't recall a new to the Chicago market beer more heavily promoted, at least over the past decade I've paid more attention to beer after joining BA. Will likely try it again at some point, wasn't very impressed by the draft served in a frosty mug near DC the only other time I believe I tried it.

Speaking of out East, this is my final of three new to me beers from their annual drop (well second year and counting).

Off to a potentially thunderous and rainy sunday - another new (to me) brew from beer reefer #1:



Big Bad Baptist Double Barrel from Epic. Purchased from Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA, 26/04/25. 22 fl oz bottle, $16.00 (Including tax), $ 0.727/fl oz. Reviewed 04/05/25 (Review 3523). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Final impression and summation: 3.75 Uncredited label artist. Generally unassuming beverage, unexciting but easy drinking – just a pleasant quaff on a rainy morning.

What I did last month was make a list of Epic BBB variants I'd already reviewed then trundle down to visit Marty, my local beer seller and fellow beer connoisseur, who had a dusty RT shelf of BBB bottles, selling at cost. Since I'd already learned that the BBB series were overpriced, generally mediocre, imperial stouts, I wasn't willing to pay the usual premium price for them. Just for general knowledge, 16 fl oz cans of BBB now cost as much as 22 fl oz bombers previously did.
