brought home yet another sailboat - this one was "free" - with mast and sail....no rudder or daggerboard etc - it is an 1986 model, used at OSU here as part of their US Navy ROTC training / sailing team fleet....very cool Olympic class solo boat!


Neil Young supposedly wrote this song, full on - in 1 hour in 1970

 

It does look good. A bit dark for a Pale Ale. Maybe closer to an ESB as some reviewers have pointed out but neither one of those are familiar styles to me so I can't really say.

Good morning BAs! Odds and ends kinda morning, some sorting/packing to get ready for our summer long RV trip…taking a coffee break with an oldie but a goodie - Avery’s “Mephistopheles’s Stout”:



Bottled Oct. 2015. Poured at 54°. Cellared at brewery were I purchased it June 2023 and thereafter kept in my chiller. No oxidation. Toasted black bread; boozy retro nasal. Burnt brown sugar, bitter chicory root, bittersweet dark chocolate. Full mouth warmth from 17.1% abv with alcohol burn on tip of tongue. Long bitter linger. Kick ass 10 years out!

We’re going to take a break and head over to the beach and hit up the Cory Ave. farmers market. Maybe a beer or 2 there ;-)

That used to be my favorite Imperial Stout. Until I couldn't find it anymore. Amazingly complex and yet totally quaffable.
I miss The Beast most from them.
Used to be able to get it regularly, then it disappeared.
