Happy Sunday ba. Another nice spring day in terms of temperatures here. Just overcast w/ rain on the way. Gonna be a lazy day with plenty of brews, food, and lots of mindless hardball action. Mets got a double dip, yanks, and plenty of regional coverage w/ mlb network and espn.

Into it here w/ Double jai alai, dipa, cigar city. These big ass cans keep hitting here decently fresh. 10% hop bomb w/ resin, pine, and good bitter,

The prev beer from Unmapped was great. Gotta love a crushable craft Dark Lager.
Well, lets move on shall we?
The way I pour ANY widget can is with the can completely upside down and as far down into the glass as it can go, then keep the glug glug 1 or 2 fingers above the fill...slowly following it, and you'll get the desired head. Works for me. This is how the licensed Guinness bartenders in Ireland do it.
    Sullivan's Black Marble Stout
    Cheers!

Got to Ocelot to try some of their 10th anniversary collaboration brews. The Lawson’s / Bluejacket collab used hops I hadn’t heard of and was pretty balanced with sweet pineapple open and piney finish. The collaboration with The Veil and Other Half was a NEDIPA (no surprise) with tropical sweetness with a bittern finish that faded as I sipped.

Now trying a west coast Pilsner collab with Charles Towne Fermentory and Deciduous alongside a n Italian Pilsner of their own make, Flipside.

Definitely a difference in makeup as the WC Pilsner comes across as a slightly weird APA - a little thin with fruity malt notes. The Italian Pilsner is sweeter honey grain maltiness with a more floral middle with flower stem bitterness.

The big boy pour is up next…

    Sly Fox Hopemfbock.
So my take, a Bock disguised as an IPA?
    Too citrusy for a Bock.
Not smooth. My least favorite of the day, hence the only 16oz offering.
It's ok, but I wouldn't but it at the store. Good enough for Bock fest though.[IMG]
    Prost!.
    Cheers!
And bon voyage, time to go on a journey to grab some real food!
It was fun to try this event once, but at my & my wives age, won't do it again.
Don't care about the goat race by the way. Could care less.
    Just here for the bocks.

Right along here ba. Keep saying I’m done w/ this batch but instead I bought a few more. Cold stored and it’s drinking great. Hop forward, lots of nice fruit notes of melon, peach, and tangerine, and a nice dank note on the finish,

Schilling Beer Co. Glen Ellis IPA 7.2% with Anchovy (seriously? ) Belmar and Krush hops. Light and juicy feel, almost too light, but very juicy. These hops are seriously fruity, tropical and jammy. Complexity might be a bit low. But it's hitting just right today.

revisited Alexander! it'd been a while; I forgot how balanced this beer is with the acidity matching the syrupy sweetness perfectly.
