What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #4584

Bummer. I kind of like that one but I'm not a big drinker of IPAs. I've had some pretty decent beers from there. I think they are best known for the Coffee Milk Stout. Would love to hear your opinion of the Hellerbock or Czech Pilsner - if you get a chance.

 

Good hop flavor and nice bitterness. Slight hop burn and thinner body knock it down a notch compared to the better US ones. But from what I've had here it is definitely one of the better ones. Cheers!

 

1) Phase Three Unchecked Imagination (7.8% canned 1/17/25): A NEIPA from Chicago with Motueka and Citra for flavors of orange citrus, smooth green lime and melon.
versus
2) Hop Butcher Double Pepperoni (7.8% canned 3/25/25): A NEIPA from Chicago with Simcoe, Nelson Sauvin, Vic Secret & Citra for flavors of grapefruit, guava, green lime zest, melon, and pine. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Phase Three vs. Hop Butcher NEIPA Battle. First is Phase Three with some Motueka and Citra. Fantastic green melon and lime. Smooth, zesty, tropical. World-Class IPA here and possibly the best I've had from Phase Three.
Next is fresh Hop Butcher Double Pepperoni, (cue Rob Gronkowski). Fantastic hop combo here. Simcoe for some apricot flavors upfront. Also some Vic Secret for guava and grapefruit, as well as some Nelson for a white vinous grape and pine zest. Clean. This is a great hop combo from Hop Butcher.
Winner: Phase Three Unchecked Imagination

 

I didn’t know I would be sipping this one today. Great friend and neighbor snagged a 4 pack to split. It is gooooood.

 

Today’s train beer- and forest Oberon of my year! Good as always.

Right along here ba. Big blue, all mosaic dipa, tree house. Hop forward with a smooth juicy feel. Notes of berries, pineapple, and mango. Slightly bitter on the finish with subtle dank notes. Had hoped more more pronounced dank flavors. Not in love with this but still decent stuff,

 

Really solid stuff here.

You guessed it more Keith Jarrett, and his American Quartet to be specific. This great live album was the last they recorded together. The band is Dewey Redman, Charlie Haden, and Paul Motion.





The Survivors Suite coming up later tonight...which is my all time favorite Keith Jarrett album, and another with this same band, recorded right before this live show. These were the last two things they did together and they are masterpieces.

I'm already planning my Jarrett music set for tomorrow...I'm thinking its going to be all solo stuff ha.

I thought this would be a Negra Modelo type lager, but it's so much more. The Motueka hops lend a nice character to the beer.
It's a pleasant surprise.
