Hi, @Lydia_Ifigeneia and welcome to BA. If you hang around the forums you'll learn a lot about beer. In a sense, beer is beer, but most of what you'll read here will be about American beers. We'd love to read more about international beers, so I hope you'll interject your experiences with Greek beers and breweries. Just dig in and post your comments or questions. There is also an international forum, so you can check it out too.

    Ciao Lydia,
in addition to finding more precise indications on the site where everything is well explained, I'll give you two tips on the most immediate things.
There is a daily Thread ("What beer are you drinking now") where we who come from this side of the ocean see beers that are unreachable for us and some guys (luckily) also post their interesting reviews or comparisons between two similar beers (on this reading what @defunksta writes is always super interesting).
But above all there is a database to which you can add WITH THE RIGHT CRITERIA ratings and especially reviews of the beers that one is drinking wherever they are. So, you too can have a sort of inventory of all your reviews.
Then obviously there are threads dedicated to certain styles of beer, where throughout the year people post photos + reviews of beers of only that particular style.
And in the "Beer talk" section interesting discussions of topics related to the world of CRAFT beer in general.
Even if it is in the background even in the regional section "Europe" go and look at it when you can, even if to say that it is in the background is an understatement.
Anyway welcome, I am also Greek from Athens (dual citizenship, non-resident citizen of the municipality of Athens) but born and raised here in Rome.
On the occasion of some past edition of the "EurHop" Festival that they do here in Rome every October I had the pleasure of tasting the beers of the Greek breweries: LEVANTE from Zakynthos (first Greek CRAFT beer of my life their Pils), liters of "8η Μέρα", a very good old style IPA, by SEPTEM from Orologio on Evia (always at Eur Hop a few years ago), the Imperial Stouts by SEVEN ISLAND from Thessaloniki also found in cans (rarely on tap) and then the small brewery NISSOS from Tinos, when I went on holiday last July, I remember a Stout (I went to see, it was called "7 ΜΠΟΦΟΡ") very pleasant, the rest quite scholastic that winks at the palates of occasional craft beer drinkers.
Bring my greetings to the other Eternal City.

Welcome @Lydia_Ifigeneia. @Jack_14 covered much of what is great about BeerAdvocate. A couple of other things are…

Places: Like the beer lists, Places is a database of breweries, pubs, restaurants, stores, etc. with ratings and reviews. It gets less attention than Beers, so the opportunity for improvement is welcome.

Trading: Provides access to beer that may otherwise be unavailable in your area.

Off-Topic: Forums that include interests other than beer. Fun stuff like jokes, hobbies, food, etc.

And if you find that BeerAdvocate is as enjoyable and informative as you hope, then consider a Society Membership for about $12/year. This will open new doors for you and eliminate the banner advertisements.

    - Yamas!
