Curious about how readily available Pliny is in Southern Maine. I was considering going on a trip up there in search of RR bottles/cans, but want to make sure that it is worth it. I hate to say it, but it’s pretty hit or miss. Your best bet is to just take the ride when you have other things to do and add a bunch of stops in to check around.
Thanks for the insight. Do you know who distributes for RR in ME (I have an email into them). I have had a lot of success in MA using distributor's websites to hunt down hard-to-find beer. RR does show me where it has been sent, but I am not sure of the accuracy/quantity.
I think you're overthinking this. It's seemingly always on tap at When Pigs Fly and a few other spots. Last bottles drop was April 25, may not be many left. Tully's, Bow, the usual suspects post about it. You may find some old cans of STS and Velvet Glow out and about though.
As much as I appreciate your assessment of my thought process, I would be coming from the South Shore of MA, & do not want to waste my time. I have had PTE, PTY, & BP before.
We often hit, Standard Gastropub in Bridgton, ME (near Sebago) and they have Pliny and Bling Pig on tap often. I’ve never looked for bottles so maybe a call before going up. Cheers!

I remember seeing: Pliny the Elder Double Dry Hopped Pliny the Elder Happy Hops Pliny the Younger - this was on tap only Citra Flash Mob Blind Pig RnD: #44 Velvet Glow STS Beatification - not sure about bottles but got a draft of this while up there Intinction Sauvignon Blanc Intinction Merlot Temptation Bier Cellar posted on Tuesday they had STS, Velvet, Pliny, Consecration, and Blind Pig left from the April drop. Might want to check in on Bow St in Portland too. They had a bunch of the sours - Consecration, Supplication, and Temptation I think - sitting on shelves a few months ago.
I peeked at Carls in kittery yesterday evening. None in store. I know it is pouring at When Pigs Fly in Kittery. There is a gas station/store across the street that usually has RR as well. Look to the left when at the coolers.
Bier Cellar. Their IG and UT are up to date and will tell you when to go. Their RR drop in March lasted a few weeks before it sold out. I know because I bought the last ones.
Where did you find this haul? How was the inventory? I'd love to snag something if there's a bunch somewhere.
So, I used the RR website ( https://www.russianriverbrewing.com/find-our-beer/ ), along with emailing their distributor (Vacationland). I also used intel gathered from this thread, & knew that the most recent drop was 4/24. I was dog sitting in Hull, so set Wells as the furthest north that I would go, & worked my way south. I also picked the brains of store employees. I would hold off until the next drop (the guy @ Tully's estimated every 2 - 3 months - that is where I got the PTE).
