Virginia peanuts are really underrated as a food that you pay extra for where it was grown. Not sure if they're a different variety than most peanuts you buy or if it's just terroir, but they have a more satisfying crunch and richness than other peanuts. They really just kinda shatter when you bite down on them, as opposed to crumbling like normal peanuts.
I always love having sharp cheddar and crackers alongside an english style beer, one of the only "go to" combos I think I have really.
I just had a tasting with some friends in Germany and we paired cheeses with our beers. Comte was fantastic with lambic, and the blue cheese was perfect for an American barleywine. I plan to do this more in the future. Anyone else pair cheese with their beer?
I ate a slice of Land-O-Lakes American after drinking a Natty Light. Probably not exactly what you're looking for though Cheers!
I love cheese and beer (former cheesemonger and chef). I could go on and on about pairings, but I'll spare everyone. Janet Fletcher's "Beer and Cheese" is a great entry point, but it isn't the final word.
I actually just had this and getting up for another round. Spicy pickle chips. I go to Chips most times. Crackers and cheese too. Enjoy
Triple creme brie works with Pils/ Helles type beers for me. I've been liking Stilton on my steaks paired with an IPA.
Peanuts are my go-to, preferably the lightly salted variety. I definitely don’t need a carb-heavy snack while drinking the liquid bread.
