Last beer before heading back to Texas. A new one for me, looks and smells great!

Got this from the Fulton rep. quite a while back. Watermelon in beer usually doesn't work, but this does. Delicious.

It is very nice and is fruity & crisp. I got the last 6pk from Chet's. I still miss the OG Pils from them I had in the 1980s & 90s. NTL happy to have this one. Cheers!

Good afternoon BAs! Productive day so far…lunch beer - Tropicalia:



Off and on rain forecast for the day. We got a heavy downpour about an hour ago. Hoping to stay inside and continue with house chores…Cheers and have a wonderful Wednesday y’all!

 

Got to try this when our Bud rep. brought a bottle in to try on Black Friday. Finally reviewing it. So delicious, though I am 3% lower than average.

From a 500ml bottle. Best by August 04, 2029.

There's a nice hiss and smoke upon opening the bottle. The beer does pour pitch black as expected. There's a very thick 3 finger brown head to the beer. The head retention is decent for the ABV, but there's no lacing on the glass.
Aroma has a ton of barrel in it. I am getting strong notes of vanilla in here. There's tons of chocolate notes from the stout base.
Taste - There's so much delicious vanilla in the beer. The vanilla mixes well with the base beer. The chocolate, caramel, and toffee notes are also strong. I am not getting much hints of dark fruit in the beer.
The body is so bleeping smooth. The body does feel quite thick and full. The beer should have a burn, being 14%, but it doesn't
Wow. This beer is very well made and damn delicious. I highly recommend it.

I do like the Pils I just had. Happy to have 4 more but it's time to move along to the grassy side of life with this collab from two fantastic MN breweries:

Damn good beer. Wadena, MN (home of DM Brewing) is an old town. There's a busy railroad track going thru it along a city park. Each day 2 mile long shale oil bomb trains from North Dakota go about 50 mph right thru town. A civilian and ecological disaster just waiting to happen.

Scaldis Blonde Triple Ale

 

Damn, I may have to make a run there after work Saturday. That sounds intersting as heck. We get some of their beers, but don't have that one locally.

 

Dude its kill. Prtty much on the light side all around. Incl the ABV. Not as dank as I thought it might be. Not a powerhouse but rather an elegant and EZ drankin' Hazy.

1) Andechs Festbier (5.9%): A German Festbier with flavors of earthy Munich malts, grassy, bread notes and yeast.
versus
2) Tucher Brau Festbier (5.8%): A German Festbier with flavors of smooth, earthy Munich malt, smooth honey. Balanced and smooth.(Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Festbier Battle. First is Andechs. Earthy, grassy, slightly yeasty with light honeyflower. Excellent. Next is Tucher Brau. Smooth honey and floral notes. Similar, but slightly sweeter. Very similar.
Festbiers are sure great in the fall, but it seems with seasonal creep Oktoberfests are almost a late summer beer. I prefer them on a cool Spring day.
Winner: Andechs

Enjoying a Schilling Italian-style pilsner. Notes of cracker and biscuit from the malt base and some lemon and black pepper on the back end. Well done!
