    ...Mule Variations, Blue Valentine...I'd be hard pressed to pick a top five for Tom (but I'm impressed you mentioned 'One From The Heart'...have that one myself although I don't recall it grabbing my attention...need to revisit that one...'The Heart of Saturday Night' is definitely one of his best earlier works...

    ...I had the pleasure of seeing him live in West Berlin during his 'Big Time' tour...loved the show but the subsequent album and DVD release were one of the few forgettable releases of his (in my book)...

    The list is very long, indeed. I remember about 25 years ago I started collecting live performances and man, there are some good ones. One of the best live performers in the history of music.

    I'm a personal sucker for One From the Heart, the lounge jazz meets, gruff Waits singing, meets Gayle's super sweet country twang for me is amazing ha.

    Was close a few times on Small Arms ( M-16) seemed to blister the far targets & then miss the 100 M target a few times. Eyesight was great back then :grin:

    Missed out on a couple of Desert ribbons but always got scrubbed last second. No hurt feelings now to be sure.

    My guys in Germany cracked me up, there were a few that were medal hounds. They worked NATO missions with the Army & Navy would aggressively lobby for them, plus German Awards. I used to call them Audie Murphy to their chagrin. Most went on to earn no BS accolades over in the Stan. My legacy was training them guys up & knowing when someone was smarter than me & listening.

    Also considered the National Defense Medal a joke as well to be honest. I also liked wearing the ones I wanted to
