Hopcat on Woodward should fit the bill

The ballpark itself has some solid craft options. There is a place called the Corner Tap room. Usually has a good selection of local and craft options.

Outside of the ball park I’d recommend:

Batch Brewing: good beer and food

Eastern Market Brewery in Eastern Market. They also have a 2nd location in Mid-town called Elephant & Co. where Founders Brewery used to be located.

Cocktails-there are tons of options. Some of my favorites are:

    Standby
    Firebird Tavern
    The Skip
    Bad luck bar

If you’re looking for a “nice meal” I’d recommend San Morello. Great food, drinks and they also have a separate bar in the back called The Evening Bar.

    Have fun!

I received an email from New Holland that they are having a 'Spring Cleaning' sale at the Grand Rapids pub only from April 11th to April 20th, Wednesday night excluded.

You can't beat the price of $10 a case or 3 cases for $20! There are similar prices for their seltzers and canned cocktails, plus selected distillery items have special pricing. There is no fine print in the email that excludes any of their brands, but since it is a 'spring cleaning' these must be select beers that are old or seasonal items that aren't selling. You're on your own to discover that before going.

Im a sucker for a good deal. Three cases of random beers for what a 4-pack of trendy hazies goes for these days, just as the sun stays out longer and the temps start to rise?

Did you go already? If not, you've got 8 more days.

72 cans of random, possibly expired one-off beers, what could go wrong?

I had more time to look around on my second visit. I regret to report that Siciliano's no longer stands out as it used to (along with Rishi's). It's unfortunate, because it's a really nice team that runs the business. I usually look for special releases of imperial stouts and barleywines. If you have similar preferences, D. Schuler's and Horrock's are much better places to shop.

Repeating my previous post re: New Holland's Spring Cleaning Sale. I just received another email that the same sale prices are now available at the Battle Creek location from today until May 11th while supplies last. I may check it out tomorrow. Those prices are just too good.

@elNopalero, did you find much of a selection at the GR pub?

When I was there today they had about a 1/3 pallet of Cabin Fever Brown Ale, and a little bit more each of a fruity seltzer and a Long Island Tea canned cocktail. There was another cocktail but I forget what it was.

That's it? I like Cabin Fever as much as the next guy but almost nothing else?

While I was having lunch I saw them move in a pallet of something else, so maybe they're still cleaning out the closet. I wouldn't be surprised that the actual closet is in Holland.

I didn't like the options so I didn't buy anything. Fortunately I live only 4 miles away, no nothing lost on the trip there.

@PapaGoose03 by the time I did make it out to GR I was too late. Saw the announcement about the BC sale, seem like it’s not worth making the trip either.

Any recommendations for spots in proximity to Auburn Hills? Will be visiting for a short work trip, last time we were able to stop into Griffin Claw so I'm hoping to be able to carve out some time to check out another place or two.

Depending how close you want a place to be, I'd make a trip to Kuhnhenn Brewing, which has two locations. The one on Groesbeck Hwy. may be the closer one for you, although it's been years since I regularly traveled the Detroit area to remember distances and drive times. https://www.beeradvocate.com/place/...name=kuhnhenn&city=&s_id=&c_id=&submit=Search

Rustic Leaf is about 20-ish minutes west.

Brown Iron Brewhouse is about 20 minutes east.

Between the 2 I’d say Brown Iron. Excellent food too. They have good brews and they also have some solid guest brews on tap usually.

Steam Punk is about 15 mins and usually has cool taps. But I’d check Untappd first to see what they have.
