I’ll be spending a week in Emigrant Gap in late July for a family gathering. We’ll have one night in Sacramento to go see Micky and the Motorcars. (My eldest son is their tour manager/lackey) Any good breweries between Sacramento and Reno that would be fun to hit?

Urban Roots in Sacramento, Revision in Reno. I believe there’s Moonraker in between the two cities. There’s also Geisthaus Brewing which sounds interesting. Anyone here been before?

Assuming you’ll go out the 80, there’s Moksa and Shred in Rocklin.

If you find yourself in Tahoe/Donner/Truckee...
Fifty-Fifty has a pub and the Drunken Monkey next door has really good food (and whiskey).
Donner Creek Brewing is a nice stop as well. Greg brews his own small batches and has a nice selection of guest cans/bottles.

As DC mentioned, Moonrake is in Auburn and is also walking distance from Knee Deep. There is also the Auburn Alehouse.

Sacramento has a ton of great options, but guessing you are just passing through there...

Shred & Moksa in Rocklin are a must & conveniently located within a couple of miles (cheap Uber) of each other

Shred and Moksa would be the only places I'd visit, personally. Slice is still making good beer too, but it's a bit out of the way.

Geisthaus is a great spot and brewing some great beer. It is however, not a convenient stop for someone on the I-80 corridor.

Lunch and a beer at Monk's Cellar is a good choice. Crooked Lane in Auburn is often left off the list, but they have a broad taplist and brew solid beer.

Thanks for all the suggestions! We just returned home.

We went to Moonraker in Auburn and thoroughly enjoyed the beers and vibe. Food truck was outstanding. And Tshirts were tops! lol

Made it to Sacrement Brewing by default as Micky and the Motorcars were playing next door at the Goldfield Trading Post. Enjoyed good beers and food there with my eldest son and cousin-in-law.

Last stop was Russian River in Santa Rosa. We had our middle son, his wife and three monsters with us. Great pizza and great beers. I had Pliny the Elder and ddh Pliny and my son had Pliny and O V L nitro stout. Loved them all!
